This Locker Room Dance Party Is Your Latest Reason to Hate the Miami Heat
Let’s get this out of the way. The Miami Heat are celebrating another non-title. LeBron still doesn’t have a ring. The Heat needed 7 games to get past the aging Celtics. We know. I want you to forget that for a second and watch Juwan Howard. He comes running to the locker room as his teammates start dancing. He goes to the middle of the floor and does the dance he used to do back in Ann Arbor in the 1980′s to pick up women with neon fanny packs. And all his teammates walk away. Just watch Juwan Howard. Forget that the Heat were celebrating another non-title and laugh at that old man.

OT: New York Times has a great interview with Matthew Weiner on the end of season 5 of Mad Men. It’s worth reading, unless you’re not caught up on episodes this season. In which case, you want to avoid reading because it has spoilers from earlier episodes.

Let em have fun…..jesus….
June 10th, 2012 at 7:00 PM
I really hope the Thunder prison fuck the Heat in 4.
June 10th, 2012 at 7:02 PM
^^^ agreed. I have no problem with the Heat celebrating the victory and advancing to the NBA finals. Sure they have a lot of work to do and their goal has yet to be accomplished, but let them have fun and savor the moment.

As much as I despise the state of Oklahoma, I can still get on board with this statement.
June 10th, 2012 at 7:19 PM
I want the Heat to pull it out so that all of you haters will get off their asses.
June 10th, 2012 at 7:37 PM
Brings me endless delight that Juwan Howard is still in the NBA
June 10th, 2012 at 7:43 PM
i think i want the heat to win too.
but i’m sure if they do, the haters will still find something to say about lebron
June 10th, 2012 at 7:48 PM
Well, this whole thing is oddly out of character for the Heat. They have no history of premature celebrations.
June 10th, 2012 at 7:50 PM
3 months til NFL kickoff. Thank fucking Christ.

Yeah, the Heat getting a championship…that’ll make them likeable.
June 10th, 2012 at 8:05 PM
It does suck being late to the party. Juwan was ready to get down.

Big Carmona with the base knock. The LeBron hate has become comical on here. Sheep hate.

I imagine people would hate them less if they didn’t do idiotic things like wear designer glasses frames with no glass in them. I know I would.
June 10th, 2012 at 8:34 PM
The Heat weren’t the team that celebrated like they already won the title when they finished off their conference final. That would scare me if I were an OKC fan.

Cant believe ludwick didnt get run
June 10th, 2012 at 8:37 PM
Hey ms…stros finally won a series from the wsox
June 10th, 2012 at 8:41 PM
Oh vez, you can’t resist the backhanded comments. Haha.
The bullpen tried to make it interesting, but otherwise the offensive performance today and Friday was good quite good.

Awkward hi-5s make me sad

June 10th, 2012 at 9:00 PM
Wait, you’re hating on the Heat for that, but Durant/Westbrook get a free pass?
June 10th, 2012 at 9:05 PM

I haven’t seen them do that yet. But Harden was a douche last year against the Mavericks, so I can hate on him too if you want.
I really don’t have a dog in this fight. But glasses frames with no lenses is douchy no matter who does it.

June 10th, 2012 at 10:01 PM
like I said, hilarious.
June 10th, 2012 at 10:58 PM
I’m not sure people realize how comical this statement is.
Its okay to hate the heat and also okay to admit that there’s really not much logic behind your hate instead of making up laughably inconsistent reasons …or complaining that they should get tee’d up for hanging on the rim as long as everyone else hangs on the rim when there’s 3 guys directly underneath.
Go on and embrace your hate don’t try to explain it cos that only cheapens it.
June 10th, 2012 at 11:06 PM
How dare they???? I hate them more than ever for celebrating privately in their own locker room after beating a team (while aging) that has 4 future hall of famers. The audacity!!!!
June 10th, 2012 at 11:06 PM

I like this statement. Having said that, any hate I have for the Heat or any other NBA team is rather tepid. Like said earlier, I don’t have a dog in this fight.

“I imagine people would hate them less if they didn’t do idiotic things like wear designer glasses frames with no glass in them. I know I would.”
MS have you seen Westbrook and Durant’s post-game outfits? Hate Lebron and the Heat all you want, but that is a garbage argument.
June 10th, 2012 at 11:16 PM
Not the finest moment in the history of LSU Baseball.
June 10th, 2012 at 11:30 PM
BBBbut they’re not the ones who left a whole city hanging like LeBron, they only play for an organization that did. I guess the media hasn’t trumpeted that story enough to form the bandwagon haters for the OKC Sonics.
June 10th, 2012 at 11:32 PM
Ok, now I’m certain: They were paying Juwan to play basketball at U of M, not dance. My buddy owes me $20.

I hadn’t until tallguy point them out earlier in this comment thread. I agree that those are just as ridiculous looking and just as deserving of derision.
June 10th, 2012 at 11:47 PM
Also, this is why I rarely saunter into basketball threads. I make one comment in jest about why people hate LeBron and the Heat and it’s taken halfway (completely?) serious by some. That my original comment has been spoken about here more than anything else is as ridiculous as the glasses sunglasses that LeBron wears.
/see what I did there?
June 10th, 2012 at 11:52 PM
I don’t admire the Thunder ownership (looking at you Clay Bennett), but also don’t hate on the Thunder players. Likewise, I don’t hate the Heat ownership but loathe the players. Specifically, Lebron and The Decision and the next 48 hours afterward.
The glasses thing is silly to me, but whatever- it’s not bball related. I completely understand the LBJ hate; I’m more curious about those who don’t. Celebrating and predicting 6+ championchips when you sign with a new team is just silly after the spectacle the day before. It came across as purely an egocentric move. Sure, he’s clearly an amazing player and talent, but make those predictions after you actually know what it’s like to win one, not after the choke job you pulled in Boston in 2010. I actually hope he wins a title as he’s too good to not experience the thrill, but the BS he’s put out is just silly given his playoff track record.
June 11th, 2012 at 8:29 AM
At least the Heat had the sense to take their celebration inside and behind “closed” doors. It’d have been better if they had waited for the cameras to leave, but at least they didn’t act like they had just won their conference championship.
Oh and remember that Juwan Howard played basketball with a flat-top fade. A flat.top.fade. That’s how old he is.

is the video really that bad?

Well said. This is why celebrating the ECF win like it’s the Championship is laughable. He shoulda’ promised 6+ ECF “championships” perhaps. Kevin Durant is so much more likeable. Dude is humble, understands the moment, and wins like a pro.

Seriously, all you people look to these athletes as role models. You must be on welfare.
