Jim Nantz Got Married on the 7th Hole at Pebble Beach, and Tom Brady Reportedly Attended
Jim Nantz, the lead announcer at CBS Sports, got married over the weekend to Courtney Richards, who is 20 years his junior. (If you’ve been reading this site for a few years, you’re aware of Richards.) The nuptials took place on the 7th hole of the famed Pebble Beach golf course, and according to one report, Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft and New England QB Tom Brady attended. Phil Mickelson also reportedly attended. Nantz will be calling the US Open next weekend on CBS [Ed. No, it's on NBC.]; Patriots’ games this fall on the network, too.
Nantz and Richards were engaged for about 20 months; you may recall he popped the question while vacationing with friends George and Jeb Bush. [Houston Culture Map; NYDN via Jimmy Traina]

US Open is on NBC, not CBS. Dan Hicks will have the call.

She’s not drop dead gorgeous, more cute than anything. She looks like any number of girls I went to college with.

If I recall from the Nantz bio (great read), there was supposed to be the first round of golf between Clinton and 41 Herbert Walker. Nantz was helpful in putting it together, and had to get a 4th to flesh out the group. So he called Brady (who I think just won his first Super Bowl at the time).
It ended up being a day that soothed a lot of bitterness between the Clinton and Bush camps.
The Bush family has a long patronage of golf. The Walker Cup is tied to the Walker family in 41′s lineage.

Been thinking about this… At that spot on Pebble Beach there’s aplace where you can rest… Nantz also talks about this in his book. I think he’s mentioned that’s his favorite place, anywhere. He said when he was dealing with his dad’s descent into Alzheimers’ he’d go there and collect his thoughts before putting his dad into a home, etc.
