French Open Final Is In Second Rain Delay [UPDATE: Postponed To Tomorrow Morning]
Rafael Nadal looked like he was going to cruise in the French Open Final and end Novak Djokovic’s run in Grand Slam Finals at three. Nadal won the first two sets convincingly, and had a 2-0 lead in the third set. The match had a rain delay before the second set ended, and Nadal quickly won that set when the two returned.
However, Djokovic then rallied to win 8 straight games to take the third set and make it a match. He broke Nadal to start the fourth set. Nadal finally ended that stretch to make it 2-1 in the fourth set as the rain came down. It just went to another rain delay as Nadal was quite demonstrative with his complaints to the referee.
With this one becoming a competitive match, the conclusion of the French Open Final may be held off until tomorrow.
[UPDATE: The rain postponement has continued, and the match will not resume until tomorrow morning at 7 AM Eastern time on NBC, weather permitting]
