Not to mention all the incidents that don’t get reported due to shame and fear and knowing they’ll be dragged through the same process…but yes, this guy’s upsetting story means the whole system is broken

Don’t see how, dudes get wrongly convicted all the time. Seems like it’s he said/she said and the guy goes down. Certainly once the accusation is made the guy is guilty until proven innocent, which is fucked up

it seems most states value your life being taken away from you no more than slightly over minimum wage earnings during that time period.

More so than the money, that bitch needs to go to jail for falsely accusing Banks. I hate these rape laws we have where basically a chick hollers rape and the dude can kiss his ass goodbye. Proof be damned. And some have learned to use it as a weapon.

yeah, the civil actions net more, but the states have it on the books a set amount per year of being in prison after a wrongful conviction.

Also, I read that Banks said he’d try to get money from the state but not the party that lied. Also, there has been no word from the DA office about charging the people.

I would not say usually. And that payment is on the high end. Some legislatures are also capping payments for wrongful convictions at $15-20K per year of imprisonment.
