Celtics vs. Heat is Right vs. Wrong, New vs. Old and Bad vs… Bad

CSN Boston put together this video comparing the respective coming out parties of Miami’s Big 3 and Boston’s Big 3. It is simple, factual and quite frankly, some pretty fucking epic pwnage.
Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen did it the “right way.” They had a low key press conference, they played hard and they won a trophy. Lots of people hate them for it. LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade had a ridiculous party and came up short. Maybe even more people hate them for that.
Now the Celtics are on the verge of another trip to the Finals while the Heat are faced with the prospect of beating a team on the road who they just lost three straight games to. Celtics. Heat. Game 6. Pull up a chair, hater. It’s going to get ugly.

Celtics didnt do shit the right way.
They pretty much had KG given to them for nothing thanks to Mchale.

Cue, NBA on NBC Roundball Rock!
June 7th, 2012 at 8:28 PM
Go Heat!
93-89 Miami is my pick
June 7th, 2012 at 8:30 PM
Jmac you been around a lot lately!
June 7th, 2012 at 8:40 PM
Where is everybody!?
The game started!
June 7th, 2012 at 8:46 PM
Not feeling good about the Heat’s chances. I thought Bosh was starting?
June 7th, 2012 at 8:47 PM
I dont see anyway the Heat lose tonite. No way no how.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:51 PM
Funny how Chalmers wanted to get in it with Ray, and then face to face, he looked away. Reminds me of when you finally break a puppy and he gives up his attempts at dominance thereafter.
June 7th, 2012 at 8:54 PM
Heat will win this by 8
June 7th, 2012 at 9:03 PM
No idea about the game. I predicted Lebron would get 40 & 14.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:09 PM
Wade with another efficient showing so far. Good job, good effort.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:20 PM
This game is getting to “its over” territory.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:21 PM
Crowd is dead, keep the pedal down Miami, no getting lazy.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:26 PM
I kind of want LeBron to score 60 tonight, but that would mean Boston would have to keep it close.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:30 PM
This is an excellent read. I don’t know what the policy here is on linking deadspin articles but its round up worthy.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:31 PM
I think at least 25% of the hatred against the Heat is all down to that annoying Miami announcer.
“LeeeeeBrrooooonnn….JAAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEESSSS!!”
June 7th, 2012 at 9:33 PM
crushed a dunkin donut large iced coffee, and a coke. Nothing. My caffeine tolerance is getting too high. Gonna be a long night at work here. Walking the 18 holes today is coming back to haunt me.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:35 PM
Just got home from work. Ugly shooting from everyone but LeBron, i see.. Ughhh
June 7th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Bron-Bron’s got that look on his face. He’s ready to crush some mo’.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:43 PM
Its the most focused lebron has been in a long time. Amazing concept.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:43 PM
The key will be whether he keeps it up in the 2nd or if he gets complacent
June 7th, 2012 at 9:46 PM
Clearly there’s going to be a drop off in the second half he’s not going 24-26FG
June 7th, 2012 at 9:46 PM
Uh, what was Bass tryin’ to prove there?
June 7th, 2012 at 9:47 PM
13 point deficit..not unmanageable..but will be tough. Pierce has to stay on the floor
June 7th, 2012 at 9:48 PM
Well, at a certain point the Celtics are going to unload all their remaining personal fouls on Lebron. He better be ready to make his free throws.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:49 PM
I wish lbj wasn’t so damn unlikeable.
He is the hot slut of basketball.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:50 PM
So that’s $22 million x 2 years for the #10 pick in the draft…
June 7th, 2012 at 9:56 PM
Most decent of the Miami Heat to contribute 12 points to team Lebron.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:57 PM
“How are things on the west coast…”
Dang, I love that commercial.
June 7th, 2012 at 9:57 PM
Or 22.
/Mofucking Weekend Eve
June 7th, 2012 at 9:58 PM
FUCK!!!
I dont see the Celtics winning this game.
LeBron is in serious beastmode something I havent seen all playoffs.
Fourth quarter could be very interesting if the C’s can cut it to about 5 or 6.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:01 PM
This just in:
Aroldis Chapman has given up 2 hits and 1 run in the top of the 10th of a tied game.
Now 5-4 Pirates.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:02 PM
Gave up back to back doubles.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:03 PM
Is he hurt or something? He’s been blowing guys away all season. Wonder what was different about tonight…
June 7th, 2012 at 10:04 PM
First earned runs of the season for Chapman who had pitched 29 innings without one.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:04 PM
Well he gave up a leadoff ground rule double, then another double, then a popout and 2 K’s to end the inning.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:05 PM
And it was Clint Barmes and Chris Mckenry with the back to back doubles so it was 2 horrible hitters.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:06 PM
*Mike McKenry
June 7th, 2012 at 10:06 PM
Haslem has been terrible. Not sure why Joel Anthony hasn’t gotten any time the last few games.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:06 PM
So 2 guys batting under .200 are responsible for Chapmans first ER of the year.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:07 PM
Barmes stuck him? Yeesh.
Man, it looks like Boston’s stuck in the mud so far in the 3rd. They need to get some runouts, get the crowd hyped.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:10 PM
That technical foul call was just ugly.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:11 PM
Seriously Spoelstra, Haslem can’t even slow Garnett down.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:15 PM
Who got called for a T? I ran to the store and missed the start of the half
June 7th, 2012 at 10:16 PM
Lebron wasting everything tonight so he wont have a lot for Saturday?
/can only hope
June 7th, 2012 at 10:17 PM
Garnett got the tech – throwing the ball to Battier after Garnett scored a basket.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:18 PM
A foul on Miami! Hurrah!
June 7th, 2012 at 10:23 PM
Only way boston comes back is if Lebron sits for any time. I dont think Spo will take him out at all.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:24 PM
Unfuckingbelievable
June 7th, 2012 at 10:24 PM
This is all I’ve ever been waiting for from LeBron.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:25 PM
Any other day, this game is tied. Lebron..damn..give him his props. He’s doing what Wade won’t
June 7th, 2012 at 10:25 PM
LBJ, one-man-gang up in here. Will he get more help down the stretch? The 4th will be interesting.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:26 PM
A big middle finger to Pierce for his shitty effort tonight
June 7th, 2012 at 10:28 PM
This just looks like the Cleveland movie all over again starring D-Wade as Mo Williams, Haslem as Anderson Verajao, Norris Cole as Booby Gibson (they kinda look alike) and obviously Lebron playing himself.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:28 PM
In a game 7 vs. the Pistons, Lebron went off while the rest of the Cavs stunk. In a game 7 vs. the Celtics, he again went off but it was that game Pierce had like 40-some points.
Those great games are partly why his flame-outs are so puzzling.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:28 PM
Man, I got more thunderstorms in the local area. I can get nearly all my DirecTV channels, except for the game.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:33 PM
It will be sweet when boston hits everything again on saturday…….one can hope….or just hope that OKC just goes straight gangsta in the finals. Either way, Im proud of everything boston’s done…except those shitty games against Philly
June 7th, 2012 at 10:33 PM
I’m no basketball expert, but isn’t Miami getting away with a lot of contact when Boston is driving to the net?
June 7th, 2012 at 10:33 PM
Oh men that sucks but on the bright side you’re not attending your own funeral as a guy named Phil Shifley
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb8z5tQK9lU
June 7th, 2012 at 10:34 PM
Votto doubled to leadoff the 10th, but thats where he stayed. 5-4 Pirates.
Lebron looking Jordan-esque tonite.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:35 PM
Did I just see that right?
6 bench points combined in this game!
June 7th, 2012 at 10:35 PM
Someone else for Miami is going to have to hit some shots in this 4th. Chalmers? Battier? Wouldnt want to trouble Wade.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:35 PM
I don’t know about you guys but I’m loving the streams of consciousness we’re getting from AP
June 7th, 2012 at 10:36 PM
Theyve done more than anyone thought they would do this postseason.
Not a fan, but I gotta give Boston props for never quitting and being a real team.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:36 PM
Ha! got_em, you’re right. Not dyeing my eyebrows or anything.
Game is back. Wade hits a jumper. I got a bad feeling about this for the Celtics.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:37 PM
Joel Anthony guarding KG, what a fucking brilliant idea.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:37 PM
AP is the man.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:38 PM
Whose Delonte West, or the teammate bangin Lebrons mom?
June 7th, 2012 at 10:42 PM
And this game is OVA!!!
/Hawk Harrelson’d
June 7th, 2012 at 10:43 PM
The Heat are up by 18, quit bitching.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:44 PM
So what do you guys think about the Finals regarding which of these 2 teams could give OKC the biggest problems?
The Heat no doubt right?
June 7th, 2012 at 10:44 PM
rondoman taking over
June 7th, 2012 at 10:45 PM
D Wade is so much more unlikeable than LeBron. LBJ gets credit for showing up the entire game. If Wade disnt have that title ring from a few years ago, he would be getting killed for being the complaining lazy bitch he has become. Give back some of your paycheck for mailing it in for the first 36 minutes a night.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:45 PM
This has to be Eddy Curry however league wide the player you most want quarantine away from your mom has to be Matt Barnes. He just looks like that guy.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:45 PM
..yeah, I guess so.
/cringes
June 7th, 2012 at 10:46 PM
Pack it in..get some sleep. Fly to miami and rip out Miami’s heart on Saturday.
And no, Miami is not getting called for constantly fouling the celtics when they drive to the hoop.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:47 PM
No sports justice tonight. Oh well.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:49 PM
I wish i was drinking
June 7th, 2012 at 10:50 PM
That Hollins is wreaking havoc all over the court. Throwing ‘bows, shoving Battier around. Backups – what’cha gonna do with ‘em?
June 7th, 2012 at 10:50 PM
If Spo doesnt sit Lebron the rest of the game, he’s a moron
June 7th, 2012 at 10:51 PM
Ap- been drinking scotch during this shitshow. Makes it a tad easier, then pissed, then relaxed.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:51 PM
Heat definitely because of the LBJ beastmode factor and a healing Bosh. The Celtics can pretty much only rely on Rondo and KG night in night out but thats probably not going to be enough.
Doesn’t really matter since neither is beating OKC.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:51 PM
And, so it is.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:52 PM
That was an enjoyable beatdown. Just got to do it again, Celtics aren’t going to roll over.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:52 PM
Im just imaging how good this celtics team would be with a healthy Bradley, Green. and Wilcox. Them plus KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, Pietrus, and Dooling would be a fantastic rotation. Damn you heart surgery!
June 7th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Heat will give okc trouble.
Lebron is the best player in the league with the lead.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Thanks got’em.
I think the Heat could possibly beat OKC depending on how much Westbrook tries to play hero ball.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Game 7 will be one of the highest rated cable shows of all time
June 7th, 2012 at 10:54 PM
Jmac already has a rough draft typed up.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:55 PM
Being on a Saturday nite could hurt the ratings though.
/who cares
June 7th, 2012 at 10:55 PM
MPIII – its very true that Miami is a great frontrunning team. If its close they dont know what to do with themselves. There’s also no chance LeBron shoots this well on saturday.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:56 PM
Rondo, it will be a great TV night…Belmont Stakes early evening and then game 7 later on. People will be tuned in for sure
June 7th, 2012 at 10:56 PM
I really missed the JVG – Mark Jackson tandem on TV this year.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:56 PM
Ok Spo, get these guys out already.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:57 PM
It would be a shame if Hollins accidentally took out one of the heat’s stars. Spo would deserve it for leaving them out there.
June 7th, 2012 at 10:58 PM
Rondo is going to need a huge triple double on saturday and pierce/allen will need to hit a few threes
June 7th, 2012 at 10:59 PM
Not sure if you were being funny here, but LeBron just put on a show. Being in the lead had nothing to do with it. He put his own team there, and deserves pretty much all the credit for tonight’s win. Just an incredible performance, and he made it look easy.
/agreed that there’s no way he shoots that well again Saturday
June 7th, 2012 at 11:03 PM
I was being a little sarcastic, lbj did awesome tonight. But it is funny how he shrinks when things get tight.
Take what I say with a grain of salt. I can’t stand lbj.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:05 PM
I hear you, MP.
Somebody please tell me we have a screenshot of that Boston fan wearing the “Willis Tower Chicago” shirt and gold chain.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:05 PM
Lbj shouldnt be ashamed of his hairline. Its not that bad…
/looks in mirror
//pours one out for hairline as 30th birthday approaches
///depressed
June 7th, 2012 at 11:06 PM
If this happened to miami in miami, the arena would have been totally emptied out 5 minutes ago
June 7th, 2012 at 11:07 PM
With a win in Game 7, Lebron can have a trifecta of destroying the Pistons championship core, the Celtics championship core, and indirectly, the Cavs championhsip-caliber core. Then he can leave Miami in two years, and nuke that core.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:08 PM
I can’t decide if it’s excess scotch or a kid that is making me grey at33.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:09 PM
So you’re silent while the game was still up for grabs but with 2.7 seconds to go you’re going nuts … interesting piece of strategery from the smartest fans in the game.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:09 PM
Wait…clay buchholz threw a complete game shutout against the orioles? Shit, that was more unlikely than what happened to the celtics tonight
June 7th, 2012 at 11:11 PM
Ap, do you live in Boston?
June 7th, 2012 at 11:13 PM
Euro cup starts tomorrow you guys!
/lights a flare
June 7th, 2012 at 11:14 PM
Thanks for the heads up, got em. Arugula IV will be ready to do bicycle kicks and bone eurotrash
June 7th, 2012 at 11:14 PM
I think someone threw a beer on LeBron.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:16 PM
By the way, if these experts know anything the Miami offense should be getting roundly criticized. This is no way to play basketball, it worked this time but its a losing strategy.
And one BJ coupon to whoever has the insight to write this tomorrow
/wets lips
//looks at JMac
June 7th, 2012 at 11:17 PM
Nah..i live in NY..about 45 minutes east of Syracuse…about 90 minutes west of CRM. I was born in Massachusetts.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:19 PM
Well that was awkward, got_em….
June 7th, 2012 at 11:20 PM
got em – i’m not sure anyone will be talking about anything other than Lebron tomorrow.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:21 PM
Well, these final series has been badass. I havent watched this much bball since last year and when the fucking awesome rockets won.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:25 PM
So the Miami offense tonite was running the clock down to 8 seconds and having LBJ pull a rabbit out of his shorts and once in a while have Wade miss a lay up in the lane.
Great strategy if the game was craps … not so much for basketball.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:27 PM
Now i can look forward to baseball as well this weekend. nationals and red sox for a 3 game set.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:31 PM
I would like to discuss this but don’t have time… Just wanted to say that I don’t think this was even a close description of the Heat offense tonight.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:33 PM
?
June 7th, 2012 at 11:37 PM
Dafuq did I just read.
June 7th, 2012 at 11:42 PM
i guess i left out the customary /no homo
seriously no homo
but someone needs to point out that the heat offense tonite doesn’t work if one player isn’t doing something that hasn’t been done in a playoff game since Wilt. If those crazy LBJ fadeways are not going in I don’t think we’ll be saying “well, at least the offensive scheme tonite was pretty sound”.
June 8th, 2012 at 12:00 AM
i guess i left out the customary /no homo
Call me old school but I fall into the camp that “no homo” does not absolve one of the offer to give another man a BJ.
/NTTAWWT
June 8th, 2012 at 12:05 AM
old school
/but all the kids are doing it
June 8th, 2012 at 1:47 AM
LeBron = Beastmode tonight.
Glad he pulled that in Game 6. No way in hell they duplicate that effort on Saturday.
C’s are going to win Saturday. They love the “us against the world” bullshit, but they buy into it.
Almost looked like they baited Miami into blowing their load a game early…
June 8th, 2012 at 2:42 AM
i don’t mind lbj getting his props as long as at least one prop-giver laments why lbj won’t/can’t do this more often.
he saved the heat last night!
but he didn’t have to, had he played like this earlier!
