Jeff Van Gundy Thought Mickael Pietrus Should Have Been Fined $1 Million For This Flop
All, Media Gossip/Musings, NBA, Video June 6th. 2012, 10:56am
Jeff Van Gundy thinks Mickaël Piétrus should be fined $1 million for this flop. Really, who could disagree with him? Van Gundy’s comments are generally best with the TV on mute, but this one, while the fine may be a little too much, is actually quite good.
Hasn’t the NBA playoff officiating been great?

Great post.

2 million dollar fine for not proofreading your headlines

Summary. Rhetorical question. Assessment. Rhetorical question.
I agree with Babar.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:00 AM
You’re really going to take what he said literally?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:00 AM
A throwaway joke is worthy of a post?
Sad.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Completely disagree.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:03 AM
Though quite witty, cuoldn’t disagree more. If you don’t like him, do you like any analyst?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:03 AM
That was both a good job AND a good effort by Van Gundy.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:04 AM
Super Nintendo Chalmers got done dirty.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:04 AM
I’m glad Shamburger is using his new found position to write about such riveting topics.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:05 AM
I’m not weighing in on this until Ernie Johnson fills in the rest of the story
June 6th, 2012 at 11:06 AM
I can’t wait for the post analyzing Michael Wilbon’s difficult job.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:07 AM
Van Gundy is solid. I like his passion. And his silly comments.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:08 AM
Should have been what? Come on, the suspens is killing me!
June 6th, 2012 at 11:09 AM
Why doesn’t this video have a “TheBigLead” trademark?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:10 AM
Michael Traveshamockery, on the case!
/who is this guy?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:12 AM
Is this real?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:12 AM
Can we coordinate a trade between TNT and ESPN, Miller for Van Gundy…and then show NBA games exclusively on TNT?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
Intern Bill + BBOB = Shamwow.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:14 AM
I keep telling myself not to judge young ‘Burger until CFB season as that’s his forte.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:16 AM
I like Van Gundy. Breaks down the game expertly and always offer honest criticism without appearing to troll the viewers. Plus, he makes me laugh. The Christmas day exchange between breen and him made me laugh hard. They showed a picture of him posing with the team during his first coaching stint with some high school team and following exchange took place:
Breen- You’re not even looking at the camera. What are you looking at?
Van Gundy- I was looking for some talent.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:17 AM
How do you know this?
Besides, even if the NBA isn’t his forte, he’s put up two complete shitburgers (pun intended). Anyone could have seen EJ and that producer were goofing around and anyone who writes as a job knows how poor that headline is.

Link? TBL has two pretty good CFB writers as it is.

Hover over his name, and it’s a link to the CFB Section.

Bryce Harper post?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:22 AM
Shamwow, any reaction to Ernie Johnson?

Shamburger? this is a joke, right?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:23 AM

Well, that is a shame.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:23 AM
-1 for lack of infrinfed watermarked video
June 6th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
any chance the new guy is merely doing what the bosses tell him to, or do the writers here come up with their own ideas and run roughshod?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Not only do you not proofread your headlines here, let alone your posts, but 30 minutes later it still isn’t fixed? Something something human element.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:26 AM
if ESPN was smart, they’d hire Stan and put the brothers together…they’d easily have higher ratings than the TNT crew
June 6th, 2012 at 11:27 AM
who are these writers?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:28 AM
CRM?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:28 AM

It’s said that a team takes on the personality of it’s manager.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:30 AM
Even if Jace his telling him to write abou this, he could actually write something thoughtful about it, no? Maybe take this opportunity to further discuss the issues with flopping in the NBA? Oh wait, that would require some actual thoughts.

Come on now St. Bear, you should proofread your criticism of someone not proofreading.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:31 AM
Jason’s said in the past that the author decides the topic and then writes about it. If there’s a change I haven’t read it. Completely possible though…
June 6th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
In the words of Truman Capote, that’s not writing, it’s typing.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
Spencer only writes 5000 word posts about golf.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
I will say that if Shamburger writes about CFB without shitting all over the sport with non-nuanced, repurposed playoff/pay-the-players garbage, it will be a lovely upgrade.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The moment someone pays me to write words for others to read, is the moment that I give a second thought about typos and errors.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
nobody reads the comments though. seriously, who’s the pretty good CFB writers here? Lisk doesn’t write much about CFB, right?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:34 AM
Exactly. I’m not getting paid for my comments. And good thing, I’ve had several typos already today.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:34 AM

Duly noted.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:36 AM
They finally fixed the headline!
June 6th, 2012 at 11:36 AM
Duffy’s sorry that not every post is “Isn’t CFB teh awesome you guys?”
June 6th, 2012 at 11:38 AM
Ahhh, we’re just busting the guys balls. No harm, no foul, right?
June 6th, 2012 at 11:39 AM
I cant wait for Shamburger to start commenting
June 6th, 2012 at 11:39 AM
Judging by his post, that’s all he did so far.
June 6th, 2012 at 11:42 AM
Its interesting that he isnt under the “Writer’s” thing on the right side of the page yet

Is this dude an intern?
June 6th, 2012 at 1:16 PM
If he is an intern, then he should get a pass. Can’t be any worse than Arnie.
June 6th, 2012 at 2:57 PM
Mike Breen’s commentary is the exact reason why I mute ESPN games if watch their broadcasts.
Control you emotions, that has NOTHING to do with the play in question. I’d had enough of his company man routine and this video is another mark against him.
June 6th, 2012 at 7:44 PM
The only thing worse than Heat Celtic game 5 was listening to Jeff Van Gundy. If he was never heard from again that would be a great blessing to NBA Viewers.
