Celtics Look to Even Up the Series in Boston
On Saturday night in Oklahoma City we saw the Thunder protect their home court against the Spurs to even up the series at 2-2. Can Boston do the same tonight? The colossal difference between 3-1 and 2-2, especially when forced to go back on the road for Game 5, is pretty much life or death for the Celtics.
So tonight is the night. For the sake of our viewing eyeballs and continued interest, let’s hope they can even things up against the Heat, though Dwyane Wade has vowed to be effective and I don’t doubt that Erik Spoelstra has promised to use the term “stay the course.”
Anyone else excited to see what disruptive freak Rajon Rondo will bring to the table? The little guy has been a joy to watch thus far. Check out this steal from Game 3 where he sniffs out a touchdown pass from LeBron. Its plays like this one that have me pulling for the Celtics:
Game Four Guarantee: The winner this evening will have won because of the referees, and only the referees.*

I did not expect this start. I will not believe anything til the final buzzer sounds..

So at what point do we go back and address the wisdom of trying to trade Rondo coming into the season which most actually supported.
June 3rd, 2012 at 9:35 PM
I dont think most supported that. Ainge would have been fired if he actually traded him.
June 3rd, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Maybe the refs felt sorry for Wade so they swallowed the whistle when wade clearly fouled pierce.
This game is extremely surprising. Miami looking like they did when Dallas shot them out of the building in the Finals last year
June 3rd, 2012 at 9:41 PM
I’m no GM, but I wonder if some GMs(not necessarily Ainge in this case) have thrown out trade rumors in the past to get a player nice and pissed off and playing better…
Agreed that it would have been silly trading Rondo when he is the youngest and one of the strongest assets on their team.
June 3rd, 2012 at 9:49 PM
ugh. i was reminded that i did in fact bet on miami for the series m475.
on the bright side my 5yo boy is riding a bike no training wheels in amazingly quick fasion, like within 15 minutes of starting to try. he hasn’t quite mastered how to stop, so there are still wipeouts, but it can get dusty when your kids are tough and get right back on
June 3rd, 2012 at 9:51 PM
I’m no GM,
WHAT!?
front office executives of major sports teams don’t comment here?

heat will come roaring back. they already chopped the first quarter gap from 11 to 3. they should win the 3rd Q after a patented spoelstra ass-chewing
June 3rd, 2012 at 10:10 PM
Ok so my comment there was a passive aggressive shot at the knee jerk media and fans who believe every time a team struggles a shuffling the deck chairs trade must be executed just so it looks like someone is doing something. JMac just did the same with proposing trading Gasol and Wade after the heat lost a couple games to the Pacers.
Now to your point that most didn’t support trading Rondo. I guess I should’ve said that a lot of people didn’t come out writing about how stupid an idea it was… there’s also this which at the very least shows that ESPN’s short bus audience wanted Rondo traded.
And there’s this sampling of these mostly trade deadline stories…I didn’t find any that said “Ok this is fucking retarded”
Why A Rondo-Gasol Trade Makes Sense
The Lakers are unwilling to trade Pau Gasol for Rondo
But Rondo is not and never will be that guy around which championship teams are built, which is why Ainge absolutely, positively must consider moving him if the right deal came along.

it’s stylish ap, and if you are a fan of how women used to dress and wear their hair, it’s loaded with eye candy. lots of great dialogue, and characters. most definitely worth a season-one viewing. get it from your library for free

they all had their turn
June 3rd, 2012 at 10:39 PM
My library charges for dvds. Ill get to it eventually. Would be nice if it was on netflix streaming..
I shall be nervous this entire fourth quarter
June 3rd, 2012 at 10:46 PM
Mad men is on Netflix streaming… I just started watching Season 1. Its a good show but its a little slow. The volume of smoking and drinking that goes on is something one has to adjust to.
I feel COPD coming on and I’m only 7 episodes in.
June 3rd, 2012 at 10:51 PM
They must have recently added it to streaming.
June 3rd, 2012 at 10:57 PM
gonna go watch the GOT replay. go heat!
June 3rd, 2012 at 10:59 PM
“Can’t bite on these shot fakes…” … JVG
I love JVG but the problem with these admonitions after someone fouls on a fake is that it applies information that is not available to the defender when he’s making the decision to “bite”. Of course he doesn’t know its a shot fake if he knew that he wouldn’t “bite”
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:12 PM
odds on the refs allow LeBron to foul out?
10:1?
20:1?
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:32 PM
terrible call on LeBron’s 6th
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:33 PM
JMac, its been bad calls on most of the charges tonight, against both teams. It truly is a Joey Crawford/Billy Kennedy special.
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:34 PM
Heat offense is just anemic with just Wade on the floor.
Also fucking dirty refs are on the take for both teams!
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:36 PM
THey arent dirty. They are just bad at their job. Joey crawford and billy kennedy are notorious for calling a ton of fouls.
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:37 PM
This was the only shitty call made all night.
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:38 PM
i actually don’t think the officiating has been bad… the only bad call was the Lebron 6th but if there are 2 bodies on the floor i guess the whistle must be blown although i don’t necessarily agree with that.
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:41 PM
In the first half, Pierce went up for a shot and wade crashed into him before grabbing the ball and the refs no called it. Pretty bad miss by them.
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:43 PM
Holy hell what a game. Props to Miami for shutting Boston down in the 2nd half after getting blitzed early. Wade had a great look.
/exhales
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:45 PM
For the celtics to only score 32 in the 2nd half/OT and come out with a win is amazing
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:49 PM
where’s the links to the TBl articles saying this series wouldn’t be a contest?
June 3rd, 2012 at 11:54 PM
Hell, kaiser, im a celtics fan and i didnt think the series would be much of a contest.
