I played soccer, basketball and baseball. I was better at the latter two, though I still managed to start at right back my freshman year of high school.

I managed to play D1 soccer

I managed to play D1 soccer as well. But, I’m not naive enough to believe that the guys I played with were damn good at other things. Such as playing a pick up game of basketball or throwing a baseball when half of them might not know whether they are left or right handed. Great soccer players, I will not take that away from them. Most were better than me to be honest.

Agreed. Soccer maybe ahead of basketball. Both sports combine athletic prowess and a basic skill set with a balance better than most other sports.

cross country is about as much of a sport as competitive eating.

forget soccer…at least that has a game incorporated into it. but cross country? jesus tittyfucking christ…i never understood the fasicnation with which bipedal could transport themselves the fastest when we have things like cars and horses to do that same thing a million times faster.

well, this exhibit hurts that stance.

im sure golfers would look just as silly trying to play soccer (or not) or some other sport, but if soccer players look this uncoordinated at the skill aspects of american sports, the only differentiating factor is that soccer players run.

therefore, soccer players are only as athletic as your everyday jogger…because we’re not counting the skill, right?

/a golf swing is just as athletic as kicking a soccer ball…golfers just are too smart to run
