Michigan Defensive Tackle Will Campbell Tried to Slide Across Car Hood While Intoxicated
Former five-star defensive tackle recruit “Big” Will Campbell has had his first documented instance of “malicious destruction” as a member of the Michigan Wolverines. Campbell, who trimmed down to 6’5″ 322lbs, thought it would be wise to slide across the hood of a car after a night of drinking. It didn’t go so well.
According to Ann Arbor police, Campbell was arrested after attempting to slide across the hood of a vehicle at 2 a.m. on April 7 in the 600 block of Church Street. An officer in the area could hear the sheet metal on the hood of the car buckle under Campbell’s weight — he’s listed at 322 pounds — and arrested the senior, police stated.
Campbell was intoxicated, according to police.
Campbell faces felony and misdemeanor charges of for the “malicious destruction.” He has no prior criminal record.
If he doesn’t hit something approaching his potential this season, Michigan could have some real problems in the middle of that defensive line.

“Malicious Destruction” in Michigan means he was willful and malicious. Both of those have an element of intent in them. If Will’s attorney can show that Will was too drunk to have the necessary intent, he walks easily.

Pell Grants, which many many college players receive, are about the same size. And considering what’s going to happen to those in the next 3-4 years, this may be something worth thinking about.

Nope. Pell is an entitlement like Social Security, if a student is eligible they have to receive it by law. Even if it means going above Cost of Attendance.
