The Kings or Devils Will Be the Lowest Seed in NHL History to Win the Stanley Cup
It’s the 6-seeded Devils and the 8-seeded Kings in the 2012 Stanley Cup Final. The Devils have been on a 12-5 run in their path through the Eastern Conference while the Kings have gone a ridiculous 12-2 in the West. Los Angeles has taken out the top three seeds in the Western Conference. Now they have a puny 6-seed awaiting them? This should be a cake walk. No team has ever won the Stanley Cup as an 8-seed. No 6-seed has ever won the Stanley Cup. The lowest seed to ever win? The 1995 New Jersey Devils. Their goalie was some guy named Matrin Brodeur. I believe he faded into obscurity.

There will also be more hockey ratings posts than hockey game posts on TBL this month. Book it.

Kings in 6. I’ll be surprised if we even get a post about the 2nd greatest defenseman of all-time retiring. As well as one of the classiest and most accomplished players of the modern era.

Raymond Bourque is retiring again, Vlad?
But in all seriousness, props to Lidstrom. He was great for a long, long time.
