Dwight Howard Wants Out of Orlando, Nets Need Him to Keep Deron Williams
In a shocking development, Dwight Howard changed his mind again. He wants out of Orlando. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the soon to be Brooklyn Nets need him, not Anthony Davis, to resign Deron Williams. “It’s Dwight Howard or Bust.”
Williams doesn’t want to stay with the Nets unless they become an instant Eastern Conference contender and wouldn’t accept waiting for Davis’ development. The Nets have a 7.5 percent chance of winning the lottery, and sources said the organization would be willing to part with Davis for the chance to pair Howard and Williams for the franchise’s move into a new Brooklyn arena next season.
The Nets have a 7.5 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick. They may need that to keep Brook Lopez in a trade for Howard. If the Nets don’t land in the Top 3, they lose the pick to Portland.
Dwight Howard will smile and will attribute this to the media making up crazy things.
Do the Nets really need Dwight? It’s Brooklyn. Have a dank basement that serves discounted PBR. Include special parking for vintage Volvo station wagons and fixed gear bikes. Pipe in organic, rarefied air. You’re golden.

Shocking. I hope the Pistons or Cavs win the lottery tonight.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:40 AM
Dwight Howard thinks he wants to go here or there….
Well….
shut the fuck up, Dwight
May 30th, 2012 at 11:40 AM
Is it really all about winning or is it about market too? I mean, would he go to Indiana? That would be a helluva team if he landed there.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:41 AM
I have no idea what any of this means
May 30th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
SOMEONE SMOKING DANK IN THE BASEMENT?
May 30th, 2012 at 11:44 AM
it was a pretty good hipster joke, actually. all they need to do to get the brooklyn hipster crowd is ban shorts that go beyond mid-thigh and rec specs.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:44 AM
But can they also get Dwight? Deron’s not going anywhere without his buddy Dwight!
/That’s why they’re going to the Lakers
//no they’re not
May 30th, 2012 at 11:45 AM
*get rec specs…banning rec specs would alienate the hipster demo.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:46 AM
But their APPAREL is so original and CUTTING EDGE!!!! who wouldn’t want to play for them??!?!?!
May 30th, 2012 at 11:48 AM
Cmon, Paxson wake up and get Howard on Bulls.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:49 AM
No TVs, all the furniture is found, donated or salvaged. Unisex bathrooms, exposed brick and wood. Pint of PBR in a giant mason jar on special.
/If you build it I will come
//They did, it’s called Baby Huey and I need to get back there

Went running on the promenade a few weeks ago and just as I am passing a super hipster couple (head bands and 70′s running shorts) overhear one dude tell the other guy that Brooklyn has too many yuppies.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
I am always surprised when Brook Lopez’ name is mentioned as vital piece to a transaction. The dude is a JAG.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
Good God, I’d need Virgil to help me navigate through that circle of Hell.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:52 AM
Boozer for Howard sounds about right.

sure he wasn’t talking about brooklyn decker’s sweater puppies?
May 30th, 2012 at 11:52 AM
Well done.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:53 AM
Man I forgot the lottery was tonight. I can’t wait to be disappointed.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:53 AM
Not so bad.
May 30th, 2012 at 11:54 AM

See Brooklyn is filled and I mean filled with hipsters. Just walking down Smith or Pacific gives me a headache.
/lots of good restaurants though
May 30th, 2012 at 11:54 AM
in dante’s hell, all the hipsters are waiting in line outside a trendy dance club and the only soundtrack is “now that’s what i call music vol. 33.” also, the hipster’s designated area is a septagram because the circle was so mainstream.

<emDwight Howard changed his mind again. He wants out of Orlando.
lol
May 30th, 2012 at 11:58 AM
So, did Howard really screw himself with the taking another year? Couldnt he have been traded, played out the deal and be a UFA?
May 30th, 2012 at 11:59 AM
Forget Dwight. Indiana should make a run at Nash.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:00 PM
@scripty- he could be a FA right now, but chose to pick up his player option
May 30th, 2012 at 12:01 PM
I’m confused. Deron Williams saying he won’t sign with the Nets unless they get Dwight means Dwight wants out? Or did he come out and say that to someone?
May 30th, 2012 at 12:01 PM
Yep. He could have forced them to sign and trade him wherever he wanted to go.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:02 PM
Agree that Dwight is getting laughably pathetic.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:04 PM
If you don’t understand how linking to a 3 month old post about Dwight saying he wants to stay in Orlando is related to Deron Williams saying he won’t sign unless Brooklyn signs Dwight and means that Dwight has changed his mind, then I don’t know what to tell you.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:04 PM
This. For fuck sake, at least make a run at him. Sacrifice the depth for up front talent. Fill in depth later.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:06 PM
Agree that Dwight is getting laughably pathetic
top 5 player, best center in the game
May 30th, 2012 at 12:07 PM
Trying to keep up with the Dwight Howard/Deron Williams free agency talk makes me want to drink heavily.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:07 PM
So the only chance of Bk keeping Deron is if they win the top pick in the draft? Ok, sounds like a lock…
Also, Williamsburg, DUMBO, parts of Bushwick & Bed Stuy have a plethora of hipsters, no hipsters in Bay Ridge, just Guidettes, Guidos, Irish, & Lebanese.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:08 PM
Oh, I was actually talking about DWill.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:09 PM
i’m just glad they solved these kinds of problems with that whole lockout business.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:13 PM
Well that makes more sense
May 30th, 2012 at 12:14 PM
If Deron’s smart, he’ll go to Portland. Aldridge, Batum, Matthews, and potentially 2 lotto picks. You could say they would be “suddenly loaded”
May 30th, 2012 at 12:19 PM
If he was really really smart he would pull off the ultimate heist move and go back to Utah.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:23 PM
Dude, him being pathetic has absolutely nothing to do with his abilities on the court.
Somewhat related, imagine if he could make fucking FTs, he’d be unstoppable.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:30 PM
Aside from the unbearable hipsters, Brooklyn has some of the best pizza places you will ever go to.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:35 PM
Just because Howard is the best at his position, which is an important one and is sorely lacking talent in this league, doesn’t mean he is a top 5 player. He ain’t.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:37 PM
Shaq couldnt make FT’s and he was pretty unstoppable. Dwight’s problem is he’s not particularly skilled offensively.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:41 PM
Valid points.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:41 PM
I have D-Ho at #4 right behind LeBron, Durant and Carmello

May 30th, 2012 at 12:44 PM
Brooklyn used to be Crooklyn. It was fun to chill in. You needed balls to head up there to smoke or skate or whatever. Now it sucks. Its all fruitcakes and fucking dudes with jeans that woman should wear and who I think are supposed to be gay but aren’t for some reason, its confusing, but I hate the new Brooklyn.
May 30th, 2012 at 12:46 PM
DHo would be a crucial piece to the Bulls puzzle. I dont think him and DWill in Brooklyn will win. They need to keep Lopez and pair him with DHo/DWill if they want to win asap.
May 30th, 2012 at 1:18 PM
I don’t think there’s any doubt that the Pacers are going to take a major swing at DWill.
May 30th, 2012 at 1:57 PM
Brooklyn was always a little different in spots. I used to take the 2 train from 241st ST to Newkirk Ave, and once you crossed into Brooklyn, it was always like a different world. Back then it happened to be dudes walking around with gumby cuts with brown streaks, wearing those played out polka dots and club shoes.
May 30th, 2012 at 2:40 PM
BenFrak you are spot on. I tend to think in absolutes and do realize Brooklyn has always been a varied depending which street you were on. Newkirk is the start of good Brooklyn.
May 30th, 2012 at 4:03 PM

Sean Jean is drunk
Dude, him being pathetic has absolutely nothing to do with his abilities on the court
your opinion of him means nothing, now go get your shine box
