It would be a very unwise investment and tax decision. You spread that deduction out.

Let’s assume for a moment that I know nothing about accounting practices or tax decisions regarding large amounts of money. Why would it be a poor tax decision? Can’t charitable contributions be written off?

Not that it diminishes in any way the fact that $100M is a fuckload of money, but most large donations are made in installments over time, with a bulk of it coming after the grantor dies. It’s not like he wrote out a cashiers check for the amount.
