UFC 146 Viewing Guide: 10 Heavyweights, 1 Magical Evening
The mere fact that the heavyweight title is on the line makes Saturday’s UFC 146 card special. UFC heavyweight title fights seem so few and far between because the winner seems to always get hurt, sick or… retired. The last heavyweight title fight took place on the UFC on FOX in November. Before that, UFC 121 in October 2010. Who knows when we’ll see another heavyweight title fight? 2014? 2020? No one knows!
The rest of the card is pretty “big” too. Cain Velasquez, Antonio Silva, Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve, Lavar Johnson… It’s all heavyweights. An all-heavyweight card! C.B. Dollaway – Mayhem Miller and Dan Hardy – “Bang” Ludwig are absolutely main card-worthy fights. Diego Brandao won TUF 14. These guys are fighting for free on FX.
Personally, I’m looking forward too all of the fights. There’s something to get excited about in all the fights. Even if it means cheering for – or against – Frank Mir. Stipe Miocic and Shane Del Rosario are both undefeated. Lavar Johnson could be the latest person to spectacularly knock out Stefan Struve. Dave Herman will use Roy Nelson as a heavy bag for 15 minutes and he will probably lose. Oh, and Cain Velasquez gets welcomed back with Bigfoot’s UFC debut. This is the kind of card that the UFC could not have pulled off 5 years ago. Who knows if it will ever happen again.

I hate Frank Mir, but gotta give him credit for getting back in a title fight. I thought he’d never be the same after getting destroyed/emasculated by Lesnar in their 2nd fight.
Also, this was funny:
