He shot 49.7% this year, in which was his first all star year. So unless we’re being crazy nit-picky, that’s 50%.

And I don’t think he’s a star in the making, but he’s a very good center, and like his Georgetown days, needs to demand the ball more and be more aggressive. Not many guys can guard him in this league with his hook shot and shooting touch.

I agree with this. But they can’t just reconsider it right now just to appease this Heat team. That’s incredibly unfair to guys that have already been punished. If there is going to be a change in philosophy, it at least should happen in the offseason.

Yea, Darrell- as much as you may want to go back to the old school NBA, the NBA has set a precedent recently with regard to how they handle these plays. If they don’t take action, they will blatantly be disregarding the own rules that they have punished other players by, IMO.

They need to reconsider the precedent. Everyone talks about how Chicago had to take their beatings from Detroit before they climbed to the top of the mountain. The same was true for Detroit against Boston. Two of the greatest teams in NBA history were created from those battles. Jordan developed his mid range game and put on 15-20 lbs of muscle for one opponent. The Bulls became great when Pippen became mentally tough enough to compete against one opponent. The Pistons drafted Rodman with one opponent in mind. They transitioned from a high scoring no defense squad to one of the best defensive teams ever in less than 5 years to match the physical play of one opponent. The game polices itself, it doesn’t need to be policed from Park Ave, NYC.
