So, the New James Bond Skyfall Trailer Looks Pretty Awesome
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond in November after a four-year hiatus in Skyfall. It’s hard to believe Quantum of Solace came out in 2008. I had just moved to New York, just started writing for this website and could take out a pizza and four pints of beer with impunity. Those were the days…until the economic rot became public.
I enjoy Craig’s interpretation of the role. No one is going to be Connery. Willing to sacrifice about 25-30 percent of the charm for a tortured soul and someone who veritably looks like he kills for a living (not Brosnan). The trailer (of the trailer) is cryptic in a “Next week on Mad Men” sort of way. Though, there appear to be explosions, women and cold English accents. Count me in.

I think it’s safe to go ahead and put Joaquin Phoenix on the Oscar front-runner list just from the trailer alone. Apparently the movie is set to rip on scientology-like cults/religions. Seeing how well PTA did ripping religion in There Will Be Blood, definitely can’t wait for this. The man’s never put out anything that was less than amazing.

And for the record, yes Connery is the best bond, but Lazenby was the truest incarnation of Ian Fleming’s character. He just didn’t capture audiences through the movie medium as well as Connery could.

Yup.
Might have gone through three controllers trying to beat Archive in under 1:20 in order to get Invisibility. That level and Facility felt impossible to beat in that little amount of time.
When you did finally get it tho, goddamn it felt like an accomplishment*

Agreed. I like his take on the role. He plays an oxford educated poon hound quite well. Just because Halle Berry, Denise Richards, and TVs Lois Lane ruined his movies doesn’t mean he was bad. I liked Goldeneye and The World is Not Enough, Denise Richards performance excluded of course.

I grew intially watching Moore as Bonds in the last 70′s, early 80′s, back when you would catch Bonds on the ABC Sunday night movie. All my Dad would say then was “you got to watch Connery, he’s the only Bond”. finally when VCRs came out and cable TV added to my Bond knowledge, Dad was right, there is only one Bond.
I do agree that that I like Daniel Craig’s role as Bond. He seems more of the tortured soul, calculated killer. Should be a good flick.
