He’s been terrible this season, but he was quite good last year during August and September, and was embraced by the fans if, for no other reason than that he wasn’t Domonic Brown.

He was pretty good last year, hit 15 or so homers, many of them in the late innings.

At the Philly/Red Sox game on Sat, we sat behind a girl with a Mayberry shirt. We had never heard of this guy, which prompted my brother and I to have a discussion on if this was the most obscure jersey we’ve seen. He has a Tony Clark Red Sox shirt, but I think this takes the cake.

What’s funny is that Mayberry went 3-4 on Sat to raise his average to .250-whatever.
