Greg Oden had knee surgery again. If you were keeping track at home, he’s one surgery short of a freebie. This time however, he has some famous knees on his side. Both Alex Rodriguez and Kobe Bryant had the same knee surgery in the last couple years. Both players credit the special German surgery with prolonging their careers.

The procedure involves doctors taking the patient’s own blood, spinning it in a centrifuge, making a serum and then injecting it into the knee. Doctors claim the blood then works to stop inflammation and reduce pain and cartilage damage.
