Doubt anyone is reading this thread anymore, but yeah, Braves probably have very little shot at resigning him. Not that I think they should. Speedster who will be on the wrong side of 30 at the start of his next contract isn’t exactly who you want to be bidding for.

Still, though, I trade Schafer 10 times out of 10 for a year and a half of Michael Bourn.

Definitely not missing Jordan Schafer

Schafer was 2-4 last night and drove in a run. He strikes out a lot, but he’s cheaper over the next few years than Bourn is going to be. Bourn will be owed a big contract soon, which doesn’t fit with the Astros rebuilding plans.

Phillies are 0-9 in the last 9 games started by either Cliff Lee or Roy Halladay. They’ve also managed a meager 1.96 runs in those games.

They won last night for Doc. Diekman almost blew it in the 9th though.
