Which NBA Media Member Gave Josh Selby a 3rd Place Rookie of the Year Vote?
Kyrie Irving, not surprisingly, easily won the NBA Rookie of the Year award. Here’s a look at the voting breakdown from NBA.com:
Kyrie Irving, Cleveland           117 2 1 592
Ricky Rubio, Minnesota         - 49 23 170
Kenneth Faried, Denver          1 30 34 129
Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio     1 9 15 47
Iman Shumpert, New York        1 7 7 33
Klay Thompson, Golden State     - 5 15 30
Isaiah Thomas, Sacramento      - 6 10 28
Brandon Knight, Detroit          - 6 3 21
Chandler Parsons, Houston       - 3 5 14
MarShon Brooks, New Jersey     - 1 1 4
Kemba Walker, Charlotte          - - 3 3
Josh Selby, Memphis              - - 1 1
The All-Rookie team we selected last month was nearly identical the first five names here, except we had Thompson and Leonard swapped. Should Isaiah Thomas have gotten more 2nd or 3rd place votes? The 2nd round pick out of Washington put up very nice numbers for the hapless Kings.
The biggest question: Who is the joker that gave Josh Selby a 3rd place vote? Selby, from Kansas, only appeared in 28 games. He scored a total of 63 points, including eight in the final two months of the season. He had no business appearing on this list.
What an embarrassment. [NBA.com]

First guesses are either a Kansas voter or a Memphis homer. Although, one of the first Google results for Josh Shelby has to do with his sexual orientation, which I had no idea that that was in question.
In short, draw your own conclusions.

TBL, remember when you had Jimmer on your first all NBA rookie team?
That was ridiculous.

Clearly the Sports Guy ballot snafu was all a ruse to throw suspicion off of Rick Bucher hitting the Selby 10,000-1 Any Vote bet.
