Torii Hunter Takes Leave From the Angels After His Son is Arrested For Sexual Assault
Torii Hunter, the veteran outfielder for the Anaheim Angels, has two sons who are Division I football recruits. As ESPN chronicled last month, teams in the Pac-12 are salivating over them. Now, the bad news: The Angels just announced that Hunter has been placed on the restricted list to deal with “a personal matter.” That likely matter – one of his aforementioned sons, 17-year-old Darius McClinton-Hunter, was arrested today in Texas and “charged with sexual assault of a child, a 2nd-degree felony,” according to a TV station in Texas.

Unfortunately, this story has been written a thousand times over the years. Usually with a parent of a daughter finding out their child willingly had a train ran on her. The justice system needs to stop playing games with these ages in these kinds of cases.
