The Guinness world record for Jersey-style fist-pumping may be owned by an Ohio man. He also created the category. 34-year-old James Peterson fist-pumped for 16 hours straight on a pub crawl that began at 11am on Friday and ended at 3am on Saturday. He superglued his fist together to ensure formational integrity.

In case you thought Peterson was the one wasting 17 hours of his precious life, there were two people following him around filming.

This was his second attempt at the record.

“I did this on St. Patrick’s Day but it was not documented.”

He also met Akron’s vice president of strategic engagement Jim Tressel.

Among those signing the shirt was former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, who now works as the vice president for strategic engagement at the university.

Tressel signed the left shoulder of his shirt and encouraged Peterson to extend his record-setting attempt to 24 hours.
