John Axford Left An Awesome Hand Written Note In Lieu of Post-Game Interviews
John Axford, the Milwaukee Brewers closer, had a streak of 49 consecutive saves that came to an end last night when he gave up three runs in the ninth. He was going to have to face some tough questions from the media. However, his pregnant wife was having contractions, and had to go to the hospital after the game. Axford left a note behind so that the media would not go home empty.
Kudos to Axford, and let’s hope everything is okay with the wife and child.
