Yea he's a great shooter when he's open, but he can't get himself open. He was 4/7 from downtown in the series...but with the amount of time he was on the floor he should have gotten way more than 7 shots. If anything Woodson made a mistake leaving him out there after seeing how tightly the heat were playing him, he certainly should not have gotten more time. If Novak's not getting open shots it hurts the team to have him on the floor...he can't move with the ball or without the ball, he's too slow to recover loose balls or to beat people off the dribble (if he were even able to dribble), and he's useless defensively. I love Novak, he's a great a shooter and a hard worker but he doesn't have the awareness or ability to compete in most aspects of the game. Anyone who would argue that is either not paying attention when they watch him play, or doesn't really know what they're watching when they watch basketball. Novak's the man, but he's a totally one-dimensional player...and it's a dimension that's not worth making room for if he's only going to give you 6-12 points a game for 20+ minutes of doing nothing every where else on the floor. No way Novak should be a starting anything, Amar'e shouldn't be coming off the bench or leaving New York...him and Melo are both ridiculously valuable assets. They only have problems when one them tries to run the offense, sooo you get them a point guard who can run an offense that revolves around the two of them and they'll be fine. Start writing about how to utilize both Melo and Amar'e at the same time, stop writing about how they get in each others way.

You’re putting way too much stock in Novak.
