Fenway Park’s PA Announcer Carl Beane Killed in Car Accident
Carl Beane, Fenway Park’s public address announcer since 2003, died earlier today following a single car accident in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Early reports show that his vehicle crossed lanes, went off the road and hit a tree and a wall. Nearby golfers alerted police of the crash and he was later pronounced dead at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.
Beane was a Massachusetts native and had been in broadcasting in some form or another since 1972. He was 59-years-old.
The Red Sox return home tomorrow night to host the Indians, so expect a classy tribute to a man who truly seemed to love his job.

Sad news. If something ever happened to Lawrence Tanter (Lakers PA announcer) or Nancy Bea Hefley (Dodgers organ player) I’d be crushed. Condolences to Sawx fans.

Wow this sucks.
I just hope the folks at the red sox put some thought into this tribute, unlike the one they did for the Fenway anniversary.
