I’ve had a hard time getting into podcasts. I wanted to like Stewart Mandel’s, but it’s fucking horrendous. His voice is just awful, his co-host is annoying and they don’t seem to transition well from topic to topic. I’m still trying to find a good CFB podcast. Even The Solid Verbal podcast is just kind of…meh.

Well, can’t help you with CFB podcasts, but for soccer, please check out guardian football weekly. Although it’s premier league-centric, they still have dedicated segments for La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga. Plus, they can be quite funny. Barry Glendenning is hilarious.

And for TV, can’t go wrong with Sepinwall.

First Take is unwatchable. I would rather watch those Sarah McLachlan dying/sick/abused animal commercials on repeat for three hours than watch First Take.
They think they’re cute running some sort of” sweepstakes” and the prize is that they won’t talk about Tim Tebow for an entire day.

You guys listen to podcasts? I listen to ESPN’s NBA Today, Alan Sepinwall, Talking TV, Guardian Football Weekly, Bill Simmons etc. For some reason, the lack of structure and time constraints make podcasts an easy listen. People don’t yell or generate false debate.

I don’t know why they can’t have a 30 min show with 2-3 guys talking about no more than 3 topics at a time. That way they can get deeper into discussions and debates rather than spewing nonsense for 20-30 seconds and then letting some other idiot take the opposite stance.

Same here. I haven’t watched Sportscenter in years. Finally got sick of PTI about five years ago. Just watch actual games and 30/30.

PTI became stale a while back, and ATH is awful because the panelists by and large are terrible. I don’t know why they can’t have a 30 min show with 2-3 guys talking about no more than 3 topics at a time.
