Clint Dempsey Scored an Incisive Free Kick Goal Against Sunderland
Clint Dempsey’s beast mode season continues. The American midfielder scored on this incisive free kick for Fulham today in the club’s 2-1 win over Sunderland. It was Dempsey’s 23rd of the season, and 17th in the EPL. It was his 50th career league goal since joining Fulham. We’ll forgive him forgetting everyone else is looking at him through a mirror on the celebration.
He may not be playing in the Champions League next season, though there are rumblings a certain club wearing red likes the cut of his jib.

I’m not sure how I feel about Liverpool potentially spending a huge amount of money on a 29 year old midfielder who, though he has shown he can play in the Premiership, doesn’t seem likely to replicate this season. If they sign Dempsey, they are chasing a trend as it happens rather than before. It’s like John Henry forgot how to build a sports team after Theo left the Red Sox for the Cubs.

I agree with everything you say except for the: “doesn’t seem likely to replicate this season.”. What do you have to support this? While this is his highest scoring total for a season, he has been scoring goals for Fulham for quite a few seasons. Tough to say that he doesn’t have what it takes to keep this up.
