You have to appreciate the UFC’s literal event naming conventions. Long gone are the days of “UFC ##: Anal Retaliation.” Now you get the channel and the headliners. This time it’s Nate Diaz and Jim Miller fighting on FOX. Earlier in the week it looked like a win would earn Nate Diaz a title shot. Now it appears the winner will fight Anthony Pettis for a shot at a shot at the title. Now effectively can Nate Diaz defend against the take down? It seems that any scenario that doesn’t involve Jim Miller taking Diaz down and grinding this out ends with Diaz winning. Let’s hope Miller’s wrestling pisses Diaz off enough for the UFC’s first double-middle finger on FOX.

Johny Hendricks knocked out Jon Fitch in his last fight. If he can put away Josh Koscheck, Hendricks will likely get a tongue kiss from Dana White. He will also be promised a title shot in 2014. Alan Belcher literally try to walk away from his fight against Rousimar Palhares tonight. Palhares will try and rip off one or more of Belcher’s limbs. The Knockout of the Night will likely occur in the Pat Barry – Lavar “Big” Johnson fight. It is going to be a big sloppy slugfest. If either man survives the first, I’ll be shocked. Expect a 15 minute grappling match.
