Shaq is Graduating From Barry University, So Now You Can Call Him Dr. Shaq
Dr. Shaq. Has a nice ring to it.
During commencement ceremonies at Miami’s James L. Knight Center, he’ll be anointed Dr. O’Neal by Barry University, receiving a doctoral degree in organizational learning and leadership with a specialization in human resource development. Sounds like a mouthful? Not for a guy with a grade-point average of 3.813 over 4 1/2 years at Barry.
He wrote a dissertation. Oh, and Shaq’s not done. “Law school or a doctorate in psychology might be next,” he told the Palm Beach Post. I’m expecting a huge bounce-back year in 2012 from Shaq on Inside the NBA. [Palm Beach Post]

Sounds like bullshit.

Oh please. Half of those professors and TAs likely took it easier on him when they saw “Shaquille O’Neal” on the papers. A 3.8 GPA is pretty high for a guy who can barely string together meaningful analysis on Inside the NBA, so I don’t really believe he achieved it himself.
This just means he’ll be dropping more irrelevant “business” analogies on set during the games.
Worst fucking analyst ever.

Vegas has just taken Shaq’s name off the board for “next celeb to appear in a Dr. Pepper commercial.”

Did he even have an Master’s in anything? My guess is the degree is one of those executive doctoral programs, not heavy on research or anything like that. And I’m sure Barry U is not exactly that high on people’s minds when it comes to rigorous academics.

fredsanford,
it’s not bullshit. It’s actually a growing graduate program. I did my master’s in that field at a school here in New York
