Who Replaces Hubert Davis on ESPN Gameday, Doug Gottlieb or Jay Williams?
Hubert Davis, the former UNC basketball star who went on to have a 12-year career in the NBA, has left ESPN to become an assistant basketball coach for the Tar Heels. Who is more likely to replace Davis on the ESPN Gameday set – Doug Gottlieb or Jay Williams? Your vote matters – you never know when ESPN big dog John Wildhack (who replaced Norby) is reading.
Sidenote I: Hubert Davis went to my high school. I was still in elementary school at the time.
Sidenote II: Other under-50 ESPN guys have gotten the coaching itch recently. Bilas certainly has it. Gottlieb apparently wanted the Kansas State job.

It actually sounds like you went to his high school.

She was phenomenal on the Spurs/Jazz game 1 broadcast.

I read this as “Doris Burke dead. Serious.” And I said to myself “well they always happen in threes”.

Doris Burke would be great but they usually have her doing games on Saturdays. Unless she’s booting out Vitale (everyone pray this please), she won’t be replacing Hubert. I also don’t think it will be Gottlieb because he doesn’t want to travel as much with having young kids.

Gameday sucks. It doesn’t work for hoops like it does for football. College Football Saturday is pretty good, and I say that being a pretty jaded non-actual sporting event viewer. The hoops one just doesn’t work.
