Terrell Suggs Out For Year With Torn Achilles (Injured While Playing Basketball)
As first reported on 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore, Terrell Suggs has suffered a torn Achilles tendon while playing basketball in the offseason in Arizona. Suggs, who won the AP Defensive Player of the Year last season, will turn 30 years old.
He had a career high 14 sacks in 2011, and has 82.5 for his career. He had played in 141 of a possible 144 regular season games since he was a Ravens’ first round pick in 2003.
He is famous for introducing the world to Ball So Hard University, but apparently followed that motto a little too seriously this offseason, and now the Ravens have a major hole to fill.

Ouch. You can come back from an ACL easier than an achilles if I’m not mistaken.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:04 AM
Well this fucking sucks.

This is why Lee Evans had to catch that ball. Ravens won the division last year, had the bye, an easy schedule, and were healthy. Now they have a brutal schedule and will have to navigate it without the best defensive player in the league. Mother. Fucker.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:05 AM
Yep, achilles in 9 months minimum. And ACL is 6.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:05 AM
WOW. Hate the guy but respect the hell out of him. One bad mo fo, huge loss.

Re: My last link
I hate people.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Well, this is good for the Steelers. Not that I’m happy to see a guy hurt himself.

last 5 games vs. Pittsburgh: 10 sacks.
Enormous loss for the Ravens. Impact on AFC playoff race?

Re: My last link
That’s the worst thing I’ll read all day. I hope those kids spend a long time behind bars.

My co-worker is a Browns fan. I told him the news and he was like “Yes, that is great news!”
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:11 AM
Jesus. That’s fucking disgusting. Where do these fuckers come up with this stuff. At 16, my first thought wasn’t to rape the deaf kid I sat next to on the bus. You can’t fix crazy.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:11 AM
I’m gonna go shower again.

I’ll say it again: I weep for the future
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:12 AM
Yes. They could very easily finish 3rd in that division and miss the playoffs.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:13 AM
This certainly puts the Bengals in the driver’s seat.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:14 AM
The Ravens could very well still have the #1 defense in the NFL (their football outsiders ranking had them at least 20% higher than the next team, IIRC) but still be severely impacted by this, maybe 2 wins or so.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:14 AM
Be honest, it was your 2nd thought, wasn’t it?
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:15 AM
This is good news for Courtney Upshaw
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:15 AM
I’m taking this news really, really, REALLY poorly.
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:17 AM

It might have been my 3rd.

May 3rd, 2012 at 10:23 AM
Joe Flacco: “…”
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:23 AM
troy polamalu’s waiting to see which way flacco’s going to go before coming in and rendering said comment invalid.

caption…”Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that’s about it. ”
/probably racist but he does look like bubba limehouse in that picture
//not racist becuase all shrimp dishes mentioned are delicious

Instead of the Pro Bowl, have the Saints and Ravens play in a “What could have been Bowl”. Both seasons, already ruined.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:29 AM
Saints aren’t exactly done yet unless they fail to sign Drew Brees.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:30 AM
That’s a shame.
/no it’s not
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:30 AM
well, they should have him for this year…unless brees sits out, which is highly unlikely considering the amount of cash on the table.
but seriously, how dumb can they be to not extend brees?
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:32 AM
and now im hungry.
So hitting the gyro shop in 45min.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:32 AM
I mean, this is a franchise owned by Tom Benson. Are we that shocked?
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:33 AM
i kinda am, to be honest…they’re on quite the competent run lately.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:34 AM
I would love to see a Cleveland Brown wearing that shirt…and backing it up.
/sigh
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:37 AM
Im not one to celebrate injuries. But fuck this fucking crybaby douchebag. That is all.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:37 AM

I like you and all CJ, but you’re QB is Tom Brady, the King of crybaby douchebags of the NFL. At the very least, King of the Crybabies.

Have some respect, hippie.
You too, Danny Devito.
May 3rd, 2012 at 10:39 AM

Oh, give it up already. There is no way St. Louis could support two baseball teams!
May 3rd, 2012 at 11:03 AM
Yeah, I won’t mock the BAL Defense. Now the offense, plenty of meat on that bone to go around…
May 3rd, 2012 at 11:11 AM
Still fucking pissed about this. Cue Baltimore asshats screaming at Suggs for playing basketball at all.
