What i find most interesting is the short amount of time it takes from elation and prognostication after a big contract is signed to resignment and working the NBA trade machine for possible ways to dump the contract.

There’s an overreaction there somewhere in one or may be both of those 2 extremes given the fact that a player’s skills and prospects don’t usually deteroriate as quickly as we do a 180 on his contract.

Insurance companies prefer to rip people off, not take on risk, like Amare’s brittle knees. Oh yeah, his retina could pop out if smacked hard enough on the back of his head too. Only 3 years left, too bad by the time that is over Melo will be 31 and Chandler will be ancient.

And that the team was led by the player with the worst playoff win percentage in the past 20 years.Bosh is non-existent, the Heat bench basically didnt score, LeBron had to sit with fouls, and the Knicks get blown out at home. Pitiful.

See, Amare would have to be packaged up with other assets. Young talent. People would be mainly trading for talent and accepting Amare’s brutal deal as an add-on. Knicks would have to tack a ton of young talent on for somebody to get anything in return.

Those 2 trade’s certainly make sense from the Knicks perspective and I applaud your effort, but…

Can you really see Dallas giving up Marion (after Cuban has been pumping him up all year defensively) and getting back Amare. So the Mavs are watching the Knicks play Amare-Melo-Bibby/Davis at the 5-4-1 and think, why don’t we try to put out a worse defensive team.

The Magic love those stretch-4′s (Anderson, Hedo, Baby, Bass, Lewis) to play off Howard. If Amare clogs things up for Melo, wouldn’t the Magic feel the same way with Howard.

As for Denver … i think they saw Faried was an up-and-coming player and they were able to dump Nene and get a guy they won’t keep, anyway (McGee). Shrewd cost-cutting in Denver.
