April 30th, 2012 at 8:23 AM
This made me laugh, the girl in the backseat is really into it.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:24 AM

Somebody suggested this last week and I thank them.
The Raid: Redemption – best action movie I’ve seen in a long time. Legend.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:26 AM
and it might not reach double digits this weekend. early tracking is starting to put the Avengers at the all-time best opening
April 30th, 2012 at 8:29 AM
funny. I was just telling my father-in-law yesterday that it’s my opinion that each cyclist needs to be hit by a car every now and then just to remind them who the roads were built for.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:31 AM
you’re such a heauxmeaux for spuerheroes, man.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:31 AM

The only theater in my area showing that pulled it on Thursday. So, so bummed I didn’t get a chance to see it first.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:35 AM
I did see they blew that stop sign on the right-hand turn.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:35 AM
I plan on making a coney and drinking a Vernors before the showing.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:36 AM
I amend my statement then. I stand by the original spirit of it though:
first, I wouldn’t get lost. second, I wouldn’t have broken my leg. third, I think I could survive 4 days easily.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:38 AM
I guess you could call it lucky. the TSA is fucking awful, and the only reason this story came about is because the drug runner is a gd idiot. good work TSA, you all deserve a raise.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:38 AM
you’re already emaciated. two days, tops.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:39 AM

That was sooooo cool. Had me giggling. And, the kids held the notes fairly well.
“Woman kills man by squeezing his testicles over parking dispute”
I am not even opening that link. I get chills just thinking about that.
early tracking is starting to put the Avengers at the all-time best opening
Been an Avengers fan since the mid-60s. Looking forward to catching it during one of the “early bird” specials at my local theatre next week. Downey as Iron Man consistently cracks me up.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
oh, I’m backing you on this. I have no problem sharing the road, but bicyclists need to give more in my opinion, at least that’s my experience in Central PA and a college town. I ride a bike too, not a touring/racing, but I try not to impede vehicles with my actions. Plus, cars don’t give too much when you run into, so I try to stay out of their way.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
sounds like natural selection was attempting to run its course when those pesky rescuers got in the way and effed up the circle of life.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
If there’s one thing fat, stuck in traffic and complaining about oil prices Americans need it’s more cyclists getting hit by cars.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:44 AM
Silly person, stop signs, red lights, and pedestrian crossings dont apply to people on bikes. Duh.
I hate those Girls Gone Wild type of stories. Not that I feel bad for the girl, but they dont contain a link to said exposed breasts. I’m just left wondering if they were 6 million dollar knockers or a cheap pair of flapjacks.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:44 AM
Wait..the clippers won? Holy fuck
See CRM’s post from last night. I dozed off end of the 3rd, woke up a few hours later and saw the result. The Grizz were up by 27 at one point. Ya heard me – twenty. Seven. Points. “Then, the rains came.”
April 30th, 2012 at 8:45 AM
It was fucking crazy.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:47 AM
All of this. As a Central PA resident I dont go anywhere near major roads on my bike. Why? Because real vehicles drive on roads, and I’m on a fucking bike.
I have trouble caring about these records anymore because ticket prices have risen so dramatically in the last five years (particularly with the growth of 3D), skewing the numbers all to shit. 19 movies made $100M in 2005. Last year there were 30, including such classics as Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, Hop, and Green Lantern.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:48 AM
I’m not fat though. see comment 16.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:48 AM
first, I wouldn’t get lost. second, I think I could survive 4 days easily.
funny. I was just telling my father-in-law yesterday that it’s my opinion that each cyclist needs to be hit by a car every now and then just to remind them who the roads were built for.
You’re such a tough guy
April 30th, 2012 at 8:48 AM
my son and I are going to a showing opening night. from everything I have read, it is the epitome of a summer blockbuster. won’t have the depth of TDKR, but should be a blast. dynamic between Stark and Cap should be fun. I have heard that Whedon wants to go deeper into character development if he directs the sequel.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:49 AM
all three GREAT(!) heist movies.

I went to bed by halftime figuring there was no way Flop City would come back. Playoffs are great…except when Rondo loses his cool and gets ejected
April 30th, 2012 at 8:52 AM
Ok are bicycles banned from sidewalks? If not there was a perfectly good sidewalk there for those two to ride on. And what was the deal with videotaping the ride? I say they were out to get hit so they could sue using the video as evidence. I think their lawyer is Jackie Childs.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:52 AM
I ride a bike too, not a touring/racing, but I try not to impede vehicles with my actions. Plus, cars don’t give too much when you run into, so I try to stay out of their way.
did you watch that video? They were to the side, the guy sideswiped. them.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:52 AM
rosario dawson…in my top 5 all time.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:53 AM
so, for the next James Bond to be more realistic, they’re going to cast Neil Patrick Harris?
April 30th, 2012 at 8:53 AM
I hear ya. I guess what should be tracked is how long a movie can last near the top this time of year, or the percentage change from week to week in grossing?
April 30th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
Awesome. Told my brother that we’re going on Sunday. I really can’t wait for Dark Knight Rises and Promethus as well.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:55 AM

/you guys are the only people i know who care about rugby
April 30th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
They certainly stole a lot of people’s money.
Yeah, the studios will never allow the metric to shift because it’ll show the industry in a massive decline (attendance is lower and lower each year). That said, Hunger Games, Avengers, TDKR, and Brave should be enough to get attendance back in the black for the first time since 2009 when Avatar destroyed everything.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
omg…the first sip of coffee. fucking amazing. sweet release.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
Can’t believe it took 41 comments to get to this. And would you look at those cans….
April 30th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
I have heard that Whedon wants to go deeper into character development if he directs the sequel.
There’s a ton of material to work with. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were so prolific back in the day, developing characters and concepts.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
An excellent choice for the Roundup. Rosario is phenomenal.

I like rugby, but I certainly don’t care about rugby.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:59 AM
I know, I know, I wasn’t disputing the video or their actions. I’m just saying in general, alot of bicyclists do not follow the rules of the road that vehicles must, stop sign, traffic lights, yield, etc.
April 30th, 2012 at 8:59 AM
my wife and I had a breakfast date at chick-fil-a this morning (free spicy chicken biscuit coupons wootwoot!) so I didn’t brew my own coffee per usual. I got some of theirs and zomg it was strong.

April 30th, 2012 at 9:00 AM
Add Hobbit (even though the 10 minute preview freaked people out), Bond and a few other movies to that list.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:01 AM
fixed.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:01 AM

April 30th, 2012 at 9:01 AM
Posted a career low round yesterday (80). I’ll probably shoot 95 in Jersey this weekend, now.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:01 AM
I completely forgot about The Hobbit coming out this winter. Not a fan of it splitting into two movies (the most annoying trend in Hollywood outside of trailers for trailers) but it’s gonna make bank. Skyfall, too.

A year or two ago, Kornheiser got some cyclist groups and Lance Armstrong’s collective panties in a bunch when he conveyed a similar thought. Made a comment on his radio show and it ran from there. In Lance’s defense, he was probably ‘roid raging at the time.
/almost bump-drafted a cyclist this morning because he was taking up a lane on a busy, steep incline.

The plan is to go much deeper in Iron Man 3, which is good, because 2 was terrible.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
I think the last time this came up, SG or someone stated that she went days without showering.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
Iron Man 2 was the epitome of a cash grab.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
She wants to find out who’s really into her. I can understand that.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:07 AM
The plan is to go much deeper in Iron Man 3, which is good, because 2 was terrible.
Maybe 2 wasn’t the greatest, but I got a kick out of it. It was a bit over the top. My gripe with it was Cheadle as Rhodes. I envisioned Rhodes as a bigger, tougher guy. Cheadle is an exceptional actor, but I thought him miscast in that role.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:07 AM

April 30th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
To be fair, they were pretty busy, since my 4-oz. aftershave bottle (half-ounce above limit!) caused a Defcon 1-style emergency in the security line last week. My nefarious plot to overwhelm the flight crew with my zesty scent and seize control of the plane was narrowly averted. With all the staff it took to make sure I wasn’t a danger to national security, there weren’t enough left over to take care of the minor stuff–like drug traffickers.
It’s worth noting, however, for all the hubbub over the aftershave (in which a TSA agent literally yelled at me for violating travel regulations), left unnoticed in my briefcase was the epi-pen I carry for allergy emergencies–it’s only a 3-inch needle powered by a compressed-air cartridge…not nearly as risky as aftershave.
/TSA is a fucking joke
//Yes, I’m still PO’d.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:09 AM
so what?
congrats and, yea, golf’s a fag like that.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:10 AM
I really enjoyed Iron Man 2, especially since I see these movies with my boy, who’s 13, and I love the fact he digs some of the comics that I did as a kid. He’s lucky, he gets to see these comics translated on the screen, while I had to read the comics and enjoy the artwork & dialogue
/lucky SOB.

what anonymous comments?
April 30th, 2012 at 9:11 AM
My wife teaches gym in a middle school of a very wealthy district. She’s had meetings with parents because she gave them a B+, and they’re afraid it’ll affect the kid’s college applications. No joke.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:11 AM
Good on you for linking the source material instead of Deadspin. They already have enough pageviews.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:12 AM
Should have stayed with Terence Howard, can’t remembered why he didn’t re-up. I thought he was good in the 1st one.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:12 AM
I really enjoy when you post here, but I still read all your comments in the Professor Frink voice.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:13 AM
It’s fun to rip the TSA because of how inconvenient they make the already horrific process of flying. And their screening procedures could be drastically improved. But they operate with zero margin for error. One terrorist gets one device on a plane and disaster strikes, and the TSA is the first agency getting blamed. It’s just the way it is.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:13 AM

In Ohio, bikes can ride in the street or on the sidewalk. Ever since they put in bike lanes, you’ve got cyclists going from the street (when there’s a red light) to the sidewalk, and back to the street. It’s these people that need hit.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
He’s read a handful of my comics, in particular Spider-Man, but I know what you mean. I just think back when I watched some of these comics on TV, Spider-Man, Hulk, in the early 80′s and see what they have done with the FX translated on the big screen.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
But they operate with zero margin for error.
utterly and completely untrue
April 30th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
Basically anonymous. Clayton Cargill = dirt = Gaseous Clay. I don’t know you personally, and will never meet you, so it doesn’t matter if Clayton is your real name, it’s just a name on a screen and has the same weight of a pseudonym. I’m judging you based on your comments, the name is insignificant.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
i love the comics, but my sons interest definitely has me more gung-ho than I would have been.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
Wealthy parents worrying about their kids getting into college and thus finding eventual professional success is just adorable. Because they’re so screwed otherwise, right?
Also, not really sure what happened with the double post above.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
I think Jon Stewart had a great bit after the TSA was formed about trusting America’s security to a bunch of unemployed High School/GED graduates.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
that made me laugh.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
I believe according to article 17, bylaw 14 of the TBL commentariat manifesto, we can not have unilateral accord on the hotness of a female celebrity. Someone has to dissent by either attacking one of her features, smearing her reputation, or some other form of insult. I was merely sticking to the code.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
Posted a career low round yesterday (80). I’ll probably shoot 95 in Jersey this weekend, now.
Was supposed to try a great new course on SAT w/ my two best friends. So we get 40 and rain (the only bad weather day the past 2 weeks), we cancel. Wife proceeds to tell me that I can now go with her to get the kids photos taken.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
your first mistake was being sober enough to remember what Waffle House’s coffee tasted like.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
my gf usually goes a couple days without showering. apparently if she did shower every day her hair would be more of a squirrel nest than it normally is. and she would shed way more than she already does. do I guess am ok with it. if she stinks I usually just spray her down with some febreeze, she gets the hint after that.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
Should have stayed with Terence Howard, can’t remembered why he didn’t re-up. I thought he was good in the 1st one.
Favreau was blamed; supposedly he didn’t want to work with Howard on the sequel.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
I don’t know you personally, and will never meet you,
ouch
April 30th, 2012 at 9:18 AM
Ahem… I believe the correct order would be Clayton Cargill = Gaseous Clay = dirtheavy.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:18 AM
That only adds a sharper edge to my anti-TSA raging, right?
April 30th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
Did it also make him lazy as fuck last year, because he was.

Since you don’t get this too often with your Roundup Pics- Nice choice this morning.
I clicked the roundup link wondering (hoping) that the pic might be the same for a change… like the good old days. Well done TBL. Simple pleasures
April 30th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
Same here, except we played. Fine for 6 holes, the pea-size hail comes down. Finish 9 and drink a sixer waiting for it to stop. Hour later, good to go.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
Should have stayed with Terence Howard
Terrence Howard is certifiably insane. In Hollywood, a city full or weirdos and egomaniacs, he still gets in the 1% of wackos. He is really talented but is so crazy people loathe working with him.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Someone has to dissent by either attacking one of her features, smearing her reputation, or some other form of insult. I was merely sticking to the code.
I’d love to attack one of her features.
I’d love to smear her with my reputation.
I’d love to stick it to her code.

I’m certain it was going to be sir spicious before you piped up and scared him off with #52.
I just can’t keep up with you tough guys. I wish I lead a fuller life of wishing bodily injury on people that are exercising while slowing me down as I rush to eat fast food, but I guess I’m not wired that way. Believe me, my parents are ashamed.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
I’m more interested to see how well they hide the SAM batteries inside the gargoyles.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Favreau was blamed; supposedly he didn’t want to work with Howard on the sequel.
Terrence Howard is one stuck up mofo. I read some interview with him once, after hustle and flow, where he talked about all the quality parts he wasn’t being offered, and he related his situation to slave times. Specifically, that in slave times, black people made due with collard greens (and turned them into something good) while other people (he meant whitey, but didn’t say it) ate high off the hog.
Then he did that Bernie Mac swimming movie. Then he cashed in on Iron Man.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Want me to give you a call next time I’m in VT? You’re in the NEK, right?
April 30th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Howard is also hated too. Extremely difficult to work with and is a gigantic prick.
Basically, what scripty said.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
I am still not buying Ruffalo as Banner. Of course, haven’t seen the movie yet. It is just that Banner should be played by some scrawny pussy. Too bad Norton was a dick about creative control.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
How so? Someone gets something through screening and takes out a plane, the TSA will be held responsible.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
So the Vermont TBL meetup is a no go?

I’m pretty sure you just described a canine. amirite?
April 30th, 2012 at 9:23 AM
Howard is also hated too. Extremely difficult to work with and is a gigantic prick.
Basically, what scripty said.
Serves me right for quoting Wikipedia.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:23 AM
Want me to give you a call next time I’m in VT? You’re in the NEK, right?
no, gross.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:23 AM
it was within walking distance from the hotel right after my race, I didn’t have much of a choice. it was surprisingly delicious too.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:23 AM
Should’ve gotten Adrian Brody. They try to make him out to be a bad ass, but he fits the bill perfectly.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Scripty, did you need some sort of web assist? Sent you an email to the address you posted, per NickP’s lighting of the bat signal.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Holy shit that’s intense.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Instead of doing the marathon thing in the theater, my son and I have watched all the movies on Blu-ray leading up to Friday. I am not sure why so many people hated it, but I liked the Incredible Hulk. Though the ending with Stark showing up to speak to Ross kinda is pointless now.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
sounds like your bike shorts are a little too tight this morning. also, tell your parents not to take it so hard…at some point, they did all the could and now have to let go to let you figure out your place in the world on your own.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
So the Vermont TBL meetup is a no go?
Damn it. I was all packed and ready to go.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
what kind of race?
April 30th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
RKDS, yes, but I was offline FRI-SAT eve and SUN I was working the bulk of the day. I will be in touch with you this week. Sorry for the delay.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:28 AM
Iron Man 2 was weak sauce, but the sound mix on that BD is Fing incredible.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:28 AM
you know, now that you put it that way…
April 30th, 2012 at 9:30 AM
It’s a beautiful day for the race.
What race is that?
The human race.

As far as Rosario Dawson, the man hands make it a deal breaker. My peen would look extra small when she’d be giving me the business.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:30 AM
He’s a massive prick, and if you want confirmation of that, google him with divorce or abuse in the search function.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:30 AM
Could have just ended it there.

Hope he keeps on keepin’ on, but…fuck…6’11 and 440lbs?

Completely upstaged by Vanessa Ferlito’s lap dance in Death Proof.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:31 AM
Anyone notice the rough weekend TBL had on Twitter? First was the clown suit Schatz stitched on him re: Cousins pick, then was the Gronkowski/Gostkowski deleted tweet.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:31 AM
Nashville half-marathon on saturday. also, this was my second time to Nashville, and I really like that place. the drive from Memphis to Nashville is really nice too. stopped at Rendezvous on my way through on Friday as well.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
Has anyone seen War Horse?
What a long and boring movie that was. Awful.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
Damn. Creative Artists Agency reps 6 of the top 11 picks in the draft. That’s Tom Condon and Ben Dogra’s firm, by the way.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:33 AM
then was the Gronkowski/Gostkowski deleted tweet.
For shame. Own what you post.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:34 AM
I think that got overblown. I’ve certainly made more embarrassing screw ups in the past. Where he really went wrong was deleting the tweet, instead of owning up to it. TBL needs a lesson in self deprecating humor.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:34 AM
jt hussler, what’s your twitter handle? let’s be bros on twitter
April 30th, 2012 at 9:34 AM

There’s road construction going on outside my company’s office, and apparently someone cut some sort of line outside. We now have no water or air, and only half the power in the building is working. It’s supposed to be 90 degrees here today, which I think would be the hottest day of the year. I swear, if I don’t get to go home…
April 30th, 2012 at 9:40 AM
sounds like an awesome weekend. how’d you do? I hope to run in that next year when we’ll be living there.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:41 AM
Am I the only person here who watches The Good Wife?
April 30th, 2012 at 9:42 AM

April 30th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
My wife’s parents do, but they’re almost 70.

Am I the only person here who watches The Good Wife?
Between not watching Mad Men, GoT, and Girls, I just don’t have time.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
I ran it in under 2 hours, #humblebrag, which was my goal. It was a ton of fun. a shit load of people, I kind of wish I would have done a smaller one at first just so it wouldn’t have been so overwhelming, but it was still a good time. I was pretty clueless going into it what to expect as far as number of people. for the amount of people it is run pretty well.
if I was going to live in a metro area, Nashville would have to be close to the top of the list. seems like a real nice place, from what I saw and experienced at least.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
glad I’m not the only one.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:50 AM

April 30th, 2012 at 9:50 AM
I’m certain it was going to be sir spicious before you piped up and scared him off with #52.

Veep was awesome last night. Definitely enjoy seeing Brendan from My Boys every week.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
That motorist that hit the cyclists is an ass. They were to the right of the white line and staying out of the way. Also, riding a road bike on the sidewalk is more dangerous than the road.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:57 AM
sounds about right*.
*accurate in description and correct in spirit
April 30th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Absolutely. As a matter of fact, its pretty badass to have the crowd sing the anthem and I think they should do that intentionally from time to time. It gets everyone pumped up.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
seriously, details
TBL had a tweet where he was talking about Kiper lauded the Pats ’08 draft. He thought Gostkowski was Gronkowski — honest mistake.
April 30th, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Link? What was the gist of this?
April 30th, 2012 at 10:00 AM
I watch The Good Wife. Haven’t seen last night’s though.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:00 AM
…made much more embarrassing by his haste to try and put Kiper on blast.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
The Aaron Schatz\TBL throwdown was much more entertaining.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
Also, riding a road bike on the sidewalk is more dangerous than the road.
A bike is a vehicle and should be on the road. If you’re under 12 years old, yeah, stay on the sidewalk. It hurts a lot of older cities in that the infrastructure isn’t condusive to adding bike lanes, which really need to be added whenever many new roads are made. There are bad bikers, just like bad drivers. But there are entitlement and ignorance issues that are going to cause a lot of unneccessary injuries.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
Jacey Mc was intimating that the Redskins wouldn’t hesitate to pull the plug on the RG3 “experiment” and insert Cousins if they started out 1-7 or 2-6. Basically the most goddamned retarded thing you could ever conjecture about the #2 pick in the draft that a team gave up a ransom for.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:06 AM
@imboden_32
Been blocked by the EIC.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:07 AM
True but he was trying to call out Kiper. Looked foolish.

To each his own and I normally don’t complain about the RoundUp ladies …. but, Rosario Dawson = meh.

April 30th, 2012 at 10:15 AM
i guess our ideas of “meh” are polar opposites.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:16 AM
Yeah. The point Schatz was making is that the conversation should be about the Skins wasting a pick on a QB, not some manufactured idea that there will be some sort of QB competition because Cousins is now on the roster.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:17 AM
BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!
the skins will pull the plug once they get a 1st rounder again.
April 30th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
