More People in the Washington D.C. TV Market Watched the NFL Draft than Game 7 of the Capitals and Bruins
Ratings! From the DC Sports Bog:
If you combine the numbers from ESPN and the NFL Network, the draft did an 8.08 in the D.C. television market, equal to about 191,000 D.C.-area households.
… the draft — which included the announcement that the Redskins were taking a player we already knew they were taking — did better (barely) in this market than Game 7 of the Caps-Bruins series on Comcast SportsNet, which earned an 8.01.
Reminder: The Caps won game seven in overtime, 4-3. DC’s a football town, anyway. If the Capitals make the Stanley Cup, do those ratings beat a Redskins preseason game?
Hey, anything to quit talking about Kirk Cousins vs. RG3! Or should I say, Heath Shuler vs. Gus Frerotte, redux? [Bog]

Is this really that surprising?

There’s a better chance of a QB controversy between Andrew Luck & Chandler Harnish, than between RG3 & Cousins…but, by all means, keep talking about it.

Hey, anything to quit talking about Kirk Cousins vs. RG3!
It’s all anyone is talking about. Where, indeed, are the RG3 defenders? Great get

As they wouldn’t be happening at the same time, is that even a valid question?

I realize this is hyperbole, but Cousins would have had a shot on another team. But overall I agree, all the controversy talk is coming from those who are ignorant on the NFL.
Jay: How do feel about spending a 4th on another QB? Seems like a bit of a waste when you have other needs in other spots.

So they combined NFLNet and ESPN, but I’m pretty sure Game 7 was on both the local Comcast Sportsnet and that shitty NBC Sports channel.
Today its not a controversy. There are scenarios where it becomes a controversy (not unique to Redskins). Starter loses lots of games gets hurt, backup comes in and wins lots of games. Like Brawny said, with a little time Cousins has the tools tools to play in the league. And drafting a qb so you might have some trade bait 3 years from now isn’t really a luxury the Skins have.

Funny on many different levels and sub-levels.

I bet the Raiders would give them their next 1st rounder right now for Cousins if they could figure out when it is

Great get
I love that this is becoming a sneeringly sarcastic statement in these parts.

I think they are confining themselves to former USC QBs.

I didn’t think it was a good move, but by no means do I think it was a terrible move. While I am firmly in the camp that believes that RG3 is going to be a terrific QB in the NFL, I would quickly acknowledge that his style of play makes him a larger injury risk than an average NFL QB. As such, I understand somewhat the logic behind what they were doing. My personal pref would have been that they wait until 5 or 6 and draft Ryan Lindley (who I like better anyway), but they did what they did. The idea that there’s going to be a controversy is silly…heck, I doubt very, very seriously that Cousins beats out Sexy Rexy for the backup slot.

Heh, becoming? How long has it been since the interview that spawned it? I think it was the Desmond Howard interview.

I demand these Raiders jokes be stopped immediately. Al is dead. We have a completely new front office staff (except for some of the scouts that have been making great selections once Al falls asleep on day three of the draft).
That’s all I’ve got.

I threw that Gus frerrotte analogy at TBL yesterday, in a mocking fashion. But, I did throw it right at him, which is his #1 move in researching material,
