Bryce Harper’s First Major League At-Bat Was Uneventful, Except for the Dulcet Tones of Vin Scully
Yes, Bryce Harper grounded out to the pitcher in his first at-bat in the bigs Saturday against the Dodgers, but Vin Scully is so gifted at his craft he’s capable of making a sextape involving Sweetchuck and Nicole Bass seem appealing. Harper ended up going 1-for-3 with a double in his highly-anticipated debut. He picked up another hit last night in three trips to the plate.
And since we’re here, take a look at the 10 key steps to mimicking Bryce Harper:

Never a good idea to model your hair style after Herman Munster.

I watched the game. Harper reminds me of how Pete Rose played except more douchier.

I want to hate the kid, but he’s just so talented I can’t. Comes off and acts like a douche, but then I remember how young he is. Couldn’t imagine going to play college ball at 16.

Dodger fans, despite your franchise being in a bit of flux, you still get to listen to Vin Scully regularly. And that is pretty cool.

Anybody see Harper knock his own helmet off running to 2nd when he doubled for his first hit?
Did he get called out on that – straight up d-bagger?

I saw it and thought it was awesome. I used to do the same thing in Little League.

Hamels is going to put an end to that this weekend.

Loved it. Baseball needs a new villain.

Is this Yardwork? I don’t see other baseball discussion.
AL Central – the stuff of legends.
1) One team over .500 (Indians at 11-9)
2) One team with a positive run differential (White Sox at +3).
3) No team has a winning home record (4-7, 4-7, 6-7, 3-8, 0-10).
/So you’re saying there’s a chance…

I think it is. Maybe we’ll get another baseball post later though. I think everyone left here already so there’s not going to be any discussion that happens.

Is this Yardwork?
When I checked the standings in the Sunday newspaper, I saw the Indians went 5-5 in their last 10 games and gained two games on the entire AL Central. October here we come.

Derek Lowe is 4-1 with a 2.25 era, and the Braves are paying the vast sum of his salary.
