Larry Brown is Busy at SMU – He’s Already Cut Three Players, Including the Starting Point Guard
Larry Brown rules with iron fist! Larry Brown means business! Less than a week into his tenure as head coach at SMU, Larry Brown has cut three players from the team, including the team’s starting point guard.
“He basically told me that I wasn’t good enough to play for him,” Samarrippas said. … “It’s tough for me and it’s tough for my family. I was excited to play with Larry Brown because he’s a Hall of Famer.”
Blue Chips time for Next Town Brown! Can’t wait to see these JUCO ringers he lands. [SMU Daily Campus]

Larry Brown knows point guard play probably as well as any coach in the country. If he says that kid isn’t any good, he probably isn’t.

I’ve literally never had a moment when I was impressed with Larry Brown.

This was not surprising. Samarippas was a pet project of Doherty’s who kept starting him over a much more talented Ryan Manuel. Manuel will have the starting job next year. Samarippas was too small and too prone to turnovers.

And as someone who prides himself as being knowledgeable about college basketball JMac, perhaps you should check out the roster and stats from last season before you judge Brown on things like this. I don’t expect much from you on baseball, college football or any-non Jets NFL team, but you should be able to write more about this rather than just slap together a quick “Larry Brown is cold blooded” post.

And thanks to ms, I’m somewhat impressed with Larry Brown right now.
/I’m pretty sure Brown has done plenty of impressive things in his career
//doesn’t know much about Brown
///made judgement in comment 8 anyway

I think I’m not suspended for the weekend… not mentioned is that the kids kept scholarships. I don’t know the details of it, or how that works, but it has to be factored in.
