Oklahoma State Baseball Player Arrested After Accepting $35,000 Marijuana Package
The epidemic is spreading. Oklahoma State baseball player Gabriel Weidenaar was arrested Thursday after accepting delivery of a package containing $35,000 worth of marijuana. Former OSU football player Jarrod Fields and another student were also arrested.
The packages were mailed from California and shipped to false names. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service marked them as suspicious. Police were waiting with search warrantswhen the package was accepted.
Each package was shipped from California and contained four pounds of high-quality marijuana, Bruce said. The drugs were vacuum sealed, packed in plastic wrap and vacuum sealed again, Bruce said.
U.S. Postal Inspection Service agents in California contacted the postal inspector’s office in Tulsa and notified them of a suspicious package. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is a federal law enforcement agency. The agents in California sent the packages to the Tulsa office instead of their addressed destinations in Stillwater, Bruce said.
Weidenaar faces felony charges of marijuana possession with intent to distribute. He was second-team All Big 12 in 2011.

Fuck the drug war. This kid’s life is over, now.

The Browns are fucked.

It seems like a decent lawyer should be able to make it questionable that the kid knew what he was signing for. Unless he signed a receiving slip that had it itemized. Which would be pretty weird.

Always use FedEx. Silly boys.

If I was his lawyer, I’d argue the intent to distribute. Just seems like a personal summer shipment.

The Browns are fucked.
Nah, he can spend his time in the clink preparing for the NFL instead of having to do it while he’s in the low minors.

Also, why not add in some coffee grounds?

This kid’s a nice sleeper pick in my California Penal fantasy league.

I think the interstate commerce is going to put him in the Federal League…will probably go too early.

Is this an impermissible job that would violate NCAA regulations?

I used to get weed fed exed to me no problem. It wasn’t nearly this expensive, though.
I also did a couple of christmases as a UPS driver. They flat out told us that they didnt’ care what was in the boxes, and that it was assumed that they were one of the nation’s largest drug distributors.
In short, fuck the USPS. Also, that’s a whole lot of really high quality weed.

that doesn’t do any good. Neither does peanut butter. Don’t you watch mythbusters?

Love the qualifier ‘high quality’…like injuries in hockey…the penalty is worse if the weed is better
