NFL Draft, Round Two: Coby Fleener Reunited With Andrew Luck, Rams Take a Chance on Talented Janoris Jenkins
Coby Fleener will be reunited in Indianapolis with his college quarterback, as the Colts selected him with the 34th pick in the draft. With the move, Indianapolis hopes to recreate the Manning to Dallas Clark connection anew.
Fleener donated his locks to cancer patients and showed up to the draft clean cut, but the blonde next to him makes up for it. We’ve got our relationship correspondent on the case.
Also, early in the second round, the Rams selected CB Janoris Jenkins with their second pick of the round, after taking receiver Brian Quick to open the round.
Baltimore got a piece for their defense in Courtney Upshaw of Alabama. Denver selected a defensive tackle from Cincinnati, Derek Wolfe, to fill that need. Cleveland selected an offensive tackle in Mitchell Schwartz, Andre Branch went to the Jaguars.
After the Jenkins pick, the Panthers, Bills and Dolphins went back to back with linemen that could have gone at the end of the first round in Amini Silatolu, Cordy Glenn, and Jonathan Martin.

I am convinced the Seahawks are getting a jump start on the rest of the league and tanking on purpose to get next year’s #1 pick. In related news, it sucks to be a fan of PNW sports teams. Somewhere Greg Oden’s mangled knees are nodding in agreement.

Jeff Fisher having a nice draft so far. Jenkins is risk/reward. Like Pead

So an Illinois team that lost the last 6 games of the season has 4 top 50 draft picks? Really?
Fucking Cincinatti took Devon Still, hoped he’d fall a few more picks to the Steelers.

Ryan Fucking Broyles. Ya gotta be fucking kidding me. FU MAYHEW. Could’ve picked a CB, Adams, Konz or Neal. Didn’t even pick the best WR available. Picks an asshole who tore his ACL last year. Maybe would’ve made sense had they traded for Samuel then planned to cut Burleson to free up the cap space. Matt Millen is back in the building bitches!

Mike Adams to the Steelers. Remember this mock when i had Adams to the Steelers? The comments here are funny.

Steelers go OLine at 1 and 2, I like it. Adams isn’t elite but pretty damn good, fell because of some off the field garbage. Who cares.

“I told you so”, when true, is one of the best comebacks ever. Well played.

At least the Lions should have one of if not the most prolific passing offenses in the league. May as well just draft LaMichael James in the third and say fuck it, we’re gonna score 50 a game.

I thought the Steelers drafted the guard from Standford in the first round?
April 27th, 2012 at 9:06 PM
Yeah, they’re revamping the offensive line. Pouncey, Adams, and Decastro should be pretty damn solid for the next 5-7 years. May just extend Big Ben’s playing career.

I know it is a good strategy. I was referring to TBL bragging about him predicting the Steelers drafting Mike Adams in the FIRST round like that is impressive to be off by 32 picks. Would I be a genius if I predicted the Colts drafting Fleener with the 1st overall pick since they drafted him in the second round?

It’s hit or miss and educated guess. I can guarantee you that not one mock draft in the entire world had the Lions picking Ryan Broyles in the 2nd round. I’m coming around to it after initial disgust.

Should of drafted a DB or some other defensive player
April 27th, 2012 at 9:34 PM
probably late with this one, but damn it’s nice seeing Melissa Stark on NFL Network

Won’t argue with the concept and similarity. Given the rules, points are easier to make than defend.
Question though … who is Marshall Faulk? Leshoure? That might be the missing piece.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:36 PM
Jags take a punter. Good call.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:39 PM
Lions have a better overall WR core and TE I would argue. Best is the homerun threat out of the backfield. And LeShoure could be very good. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lions sign a couple undrafted dudes. It’s not like teams will have 8 or 9 in the box against the Lions. Any RB should want to come to Detroit.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:43 PM
No doubt.
I think Best’s best days are behind him. They need a couple of undrafted guys. Polk is still available – I like him.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:45 PM
Big question mark for sure. I’m hoping for the best. I would love the Lions to take a late-round flyer on Boom Heron if he’s available in the 7th. Still pulling for Vontaze in the 4th or 5th round.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
If you look at TBL’s Brock Osweiler post I said the same thing about Vontaze and the Falcons – we need some attitude. I’d like him and ‘Spoon together.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:52 PM
Really? He’s a great athlete, but a lousy football player and a bad dude
April 27th, 2012 at 9:58 PM
I’d say a very good athlete and has primal rage instincts in the box. A bad bad man if motivated properly. I don’t care how dumb or a shit about his character. Damn good football player.
April 27th, 2012 at 9:59 PM
Luck to Fleener.
April 27th, 2012 at 10:02 PM
… and the ball is tipped and picked off.
Get used to it, for at least a season.

I’ve watched him for 3 years and never saw him as an elite LB. Maybe with coaching he could do something, but for every big play he made he had a dozen where I didn’t see anything.
but if you want him, you can have him. Rumor here in Phoenix is that nobody will draft him, but someone will take a chance as UFA
April 27th, 2012 at 10:07 PM
Sounds good to me. I suspect if he goes undrafted, he’ll end up with the Ravens.
April 27th, 2012 at 10:09 PM
That made me laugh.
April 27th, 2012 at 10:12 PM
I think you are right. Maybe being are Ray will give him a “scared straight” moment
April 27th, 2012 at 11:48 PM
Good pickups for the bills…a lineman and a wide receiver.
