NFL Draft: Dont’a Hightower To The Patriots After New England’s Second Trade, Whitney Mercilus to Houston, Cincinnati Takes Kevin Zeitler
25. New England (via Denver): Dont’a Hightower, MLB, Alabama. New England trades up for the second time, and again addresses a major need on defense with a highly rated player that fits the system.
26. Houston: Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois. Productive college pass rusher will join the team that just lost Mario Williams.
27. Cincinnati (via New England): Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin. The Bengals trade down when they had a chance to take the consensus best guard on the board in David DeCastro, and he went to a division rival. Time will tell whether their evaluation to go after Zeitler instead (and he was going to be there for them) was the right call.
28. Green Bay: Nick Perry, DE, USC. The Packers desperately needed another pass rush option to play opposite Clay Matthews, who they also picked up late in the first round, and they think they’ve found it with another USC product.

Whitney Mercilus,
Why’d they want to trade for a girl? Oh, the last name. No Mercy!!!

Whitney Mercilus, sounds like a Dothraki Rider.

“You killed it. Real swift!”

Whoa. What the hell, 49ers?

Damn that ravens trade is looking brilliant. These late teams are drafting terribly.

The last few picks post is being delayed while the staff researches who the fuck AJ Jenkins is.

The Rams outsmarted themselves, moved back, couldn’t get Blackmon, moved back again, but because the 49ers passed on Hill to take some other kid, the somehow have the #2 rated WR waiting for them at 33 tomorrow. Lucky.

Somebody is going to get a steal with Lamar Miller

Not #2, I forgot Floyd. So Hill is 3 or 4 I guess? Either way, they’ll luck out.

The Texans played most of last season without Mario Williams. Did we really need to try to replace him? I’m asking as someone who has done little draft homework, but is there not any quality receiving help they could have gotten for Andre Johnson instead?

Whitney Mercilus lead the country in sacks last year, MS. He’s pretty good.

Nice pick by the Giants.

Stark, I’m not doubting the quality of a man named Whitney, but questioning the defensive pick over an offensive one. That’s all.

I believe in Stephen Hill.

You shouldn’t doubt. A boy named Sue was a bad man later in life.

Shouldn’t the headline be “Don’t A Hightower”
