Titus didn’t “absolutely destroy” Evan Turner in the book. Turner, apparently, had/has a short fuse and Titus exploited this numerous times for comedic effect. According to Titus, Matta at one point issued a challenge to the team that the amount of suicides they ran one practice would depend on how early in the practice Turner had an outburst.

It’s a highly enjoyable read and I don’t believe anything in the book is written with malicious intent. Also, there’s parts about Greg Oden licking a Nerf dart that had only recently been detached from Titus’ testicle and an Ivan Harris BJ story.

I’d take Titus’ book with a grain of salt. He’s been known to embellish things for the sake of a good story. He’s absolutely hilarious, but consider that book his version of the truth.

He did nickname ET with “The Villain”, and it stuck. However, at the time, it definitely didn’t seem like a bad connotation, but rather a compliment to the daggers he threw at the opponent.

I’ve heard this too many times before. In other places, it’s a version of the “crab theory” – I gotta pull you down so I can get up/feel better about myself.

Seemed like Turner handled it with class and aplomb.
