Genoa Ultras Stopped Serie A Match, Forced Disappointing Players to Remove Their Jerseys
Genoa fans took “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” literally. The Italian club is battling relegation from Serie A. Down 4-0 against Siena early in the second half, the ultras had seen enough. Angry Genoa fans invaded the pitch, bringing the match to a halt for nearly half an hour. Siena players and referees were unharmed. Genoa players were forced to remove their jerseys and surrender them to the crowd. Genoa went on to lose 4-1.

The only way Serie A remain relevant in world soccer has much more to do with scandals than actual play on the field.
