To go from 15 to 5 should take the 15, and a 1st next year, since it won’t be a great pick, or maybe a couple of 2nds. It’s a big jump, especially with rookie salaries lower. Teams rarely jump ten pick.

To go from 27 to 6 it took 15,1st, 2nd, 4th, 4th.

Either way you’d have to value Samuel at a late 1st/early 2nd round pick, and I don’t see that yield for him.

New England hasn’t been worse than 9-7 since 2000 I think? Atlanta doesn’t need a top 10 pick, they just need to trade down and not up. The Patriots use their picks to build depth on the back of the team. Maybe their skill position players aren’t top 10 picks, but they have better backups than most teams.
