James Jones’ Flagrant Foul to Joakim Noah’s Face is a Great Example of How Not to Box Out
James Jones is a three point specialist for the Miami Heat. He is not generally known as an enforcer. For some reason, tonight he felt like getting into it with the big boys and gave Joakim Noah a double-fisted shot to the face under the guise of “going for a rebound.” The referees did not fall for Jones’ non-traditional attempt at boxing out and rewarded him with a flagrant-2. It was an inexcusable play, but in Jones’ defense, it was Joakim Noah.

Jones isn’t an enforcer, but he’s definitely scrappy. When there is a situation getting chippy in a Heat game, he’s usually involved. He almost got into it in the playoffs last year as well a couple of times.
