Dwight Howard Done For Season, Will Have Back Surgery
ESPN is reporting that Dwight Howard will have back surgery on Friday. The surgery will end his season and keep him out of the 2012 Olympics. If the rumors that Howard refused to play for Stan Van Gundy again were true, this is the ultimate power play by Howard. At the very least, I think we can put to bed any doubts that he’s been faking this injury. At 36-26, the Magic are currently the 6-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Already at a few dozen “I didn’t know he had a backbone” jokes on Twitter, how many can be made here?

Dang, that’s unfortunate. Hope he recovers completely.
Now, stop being a selfish, officious knothead.

where’s JVG coaching next year?
Clippers if they flame out in the 1st round?

herniated disk … Doesnt say anything about the procedure.
Wonder if it’ll be like Brad Daugherty and ruin him.

JVG is a mismatch for LAC. The core of that team is soft defensively. Their best D guys are gets like Evans or Kmart. Not the guys logging the most minutes… He also likes to dominate the offensive sets, they already have Chris Paul for that.
JVG’s perceived coaching acumen grows the longer he’s away from the game. Too bad Adelman panicked and took the Twolves job. He’d been a good match for LAC.

What do you mean “if”?
One of my friends just ran his first steeplechase at Mt. Sac relays and won with an 8:26.14 meet record (two seconds off of Olympic ‘A’ Standard time). He made it look easy.

Oh Scripty… I was having a good night too. That was depressing. Cavs went from the Team of the 90′s to an also-ran overnight courtesy of Daugherty’s back just quitting on him.
/Fuck Danny Ferry
//Really Fuck Wayne Embry for trading Harper AND 2 1st rounders for that sack of crap

Not sure if you know but they told Brad he could play through it for 1 year, and he did, and it accelerated his demise. There was some bad blood between him and the team for a # of years b/c of this.

Oh yeah. Know quite a bit about it for various reasons, some internal and others through people I know… They were just 1 guy away and panicked with the Ferry trade, thinking he was Bird part 2. Such a colossal mistake.

I think there’s a good chance that Orlando will just trade him at the start of next season.

Did he have back surgery too?
