Bo Ryan and Wisconsin Cave to Public Pressure Regarding Jarrod Uthoff’s Transfer Restrictions
Tuesday, Bo Ryan’s saga began. That’s when the internet learned Wisconsin tried to block a freshman from transferring to 25 schools. As public pressure mounted Wednesday, the school played the, “oops, we never got his appeal” card, even though Uthoff filed it on time and left in an administrator’s mailbox.
Wednesday night, ESPN’s Andy Katz took time out of his vacation and called up Bo Ryan, who offered a glimmer of insight into his decision (but it didn’t help because he told Katz Uthoff was prevented from going to one more school, Florida). Thursday morning, Ryan appeared on Mike & Mike. His first public comments on the decision were a disaster.
A few hours later, the school reversed course – instead of blocking Jarrod Uthoff from transferring to 25 schools, we’ll just prevent him from transferring to another Big Ten school.

I think this falls under the disturbing trend of Faux Outrage generating Real Outrage.

And rumor is he transferring to a school that wasn’t being blocked to begin with. Classic.

You couldn’t be portraying this more incorrectly. The school did not back down under pressure. They finally got to have a face to face meeting with Uthoff to discuss which schools he might want to transfer to. Now that they know he’s not going to any schools that might be on the schedule other than the Big 10 schools, that’s the extent of the list.
Read Mike Decourcy’s article if you want a fair and balanced take. The info this site has been peddling is uninformed, biased bullshit. J Mac has made it clear in a variety of outlets that he is no fan of the style of play of Wisconsin and has relished the opportunity to pile on without any knowledge.
