Casinos and horse tracks are like worlds unto themselves. You can get lost in one and spend hours there. It’s as much fun to look at the people around you as it is to actually lose money and get free drinks.

Look, I like football as much as the next guy, but doesn’t it get boring talking about the same thing over and over?

Has anyone ever had a bad day at the track? Every time people go they have some memorable story. When was the last time ANYONE had a memorable story from an NBA game?

Legal gambling, being outside with your friends, drinking beer, having a new race every 25 minutes…. what’s not to like about it?

Maybe I’m spoiled being in CA and going to really nice tracks. Santa Anita, Del Mar and heck even Hollywood Park are all great tracks.

There’s an anecdote about Winston and Clement Attlee going into the restroom in the House of Commons at the same time one day. As they both walk up to the trough to relieve themselves, Churchill stands far away from Attlee.
