Jacoby Ellsbury Out Six to Eight Weeks With a Dislocated Shoulder
The Fates have it in for Boston this season, or just enjoy a bit of schadenfreude. The Red Sox have lost Jacoby Ellsbury for six to eight weeks with a dislocated shoulder. He was injured when Rays shortstop Reid Brignac fell on him after he tried to break up a double play. There’s probably video of it somewhere in the bowels of MLB.com. Also upset: that one guy in your fantasy league who threw caution to the wind with an obvious regression candidate.
Boston has called up Che-Hsuan Lin to replace Ellsbury on the 40-man roster. Headline writers are now at DEFCON 1.

Possibly out even longer, in not all year, if rotator cuff muscles are torn.

I hardly ever bet on “my” teams…so of course I took the over on Red Sox wins this year. Ugh.
