I was calm the whole time. I simply pointed out that your standard Rose hate was pretty counter productive in this case. Watson is obviously the better 3 point shooter so if you had to choose between him or Rose to make a 3, you’d choose Watson. Especially in that game, when like you said, Rose was horrible. Except now you’re acting like you were just pointing out facts, when really you thought you were being quite clever with your cute little “/backhanded compliment”.

By the way, I know Coop was being sarcastic or whatever, but if you absolutely must have a 3 on short time, and are forced to choose between Watson and Rose for one spot, the numbers show that Watson is the choice. Whether or not it’s a function of lineups or not is another story (and the sample size is just this season), but any time you get a guy on the court that shoots 41% from 3, it’s a good idea if you need a 3.

However, unfortunately for Coop’s sarcasm and Rose hatred, the optimal lineup in that situation is actually something like Rose-Watson-Korver-Deng-Boozer.
