Nerlens Noel, the Nation’s Top Recruit, is Headed To Kentucky – Assuming He Can Make The Grade
Nerlens Noel, best known for his high top fade and incredible skill on the basketball court, has chosen to attend the University of Kentucky. Noel made his announcement today on ESPN by shaving UK into the back of his head.
According to the New York Times’ Pete Thamel, Noel might not be able to get into Kentucky.
@PeteThamelNYT: What you won’t hear about Nerlens Noel? He’s no slam dunk to qualify and missing 3 days of school to be at Jordan game.
The NBA lock isn’t doing great in school? I’m surprised Coach Cal bothered recruiting him. Usually Kentucky’s top recruits are excellent students for the semester and a half they are on campus.

If the kid cant qualify for UK, he wouldnt come close to qualifying at private schools like Georgetown or Syracuse…
/oh wait..fab melo….fuck that guy
April 11th, 2012 at 10:19 PM
I’ve been given the impression that there is more leeway for private schools to say “Yep, he qualifies, let’s just move it along.” I’m pretty sure that haircut was worth some A.P./dual-enrollment credits, too

I think JTIII could have gotten him a foreign policy degree if the kid is as good as his hype

Perhaps NN wants a final four appearance and not a first weekend exit.
/fuck the hoyas

When you put it that way I guess he really only had one choice
April 11th, 2012 at 10:38 PM
Actually glad he’s not going to Syracuse. We don’t need another Fab Melo situation
April 11th, 2012 at 10:38 PM
deeser, got a kid-related question for you. i don’t think baseball/t-ball is great for kids under about 6, because there’s a lot of standing around. any advice on how i can work on skills without signing him up for a league, then unleash him when he’s 7 or so? a bounceback net, a tee, seems really hard to teach a kid how to catch with a glove because the pockets are so small. i did just fine, but didn’t play until I was 9 or so. can’t remember how i learned tho

Hey ms, congrats on the wedding. How’s married life?
April 11th, 2012 at 10:51 PM
Fuck that noise. I would have put money in the collection plate for him to go to Georgetown
April 11th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Thanks TJ. Married life is good. It’s certainly easier to adjust to when you already live with your spouse and have been for a couple of years. It makes figuring out where new dishes go a lot easier.
/because she tells me

Hey ms, congrats on the wedding. How’s married life?
I forgot this was upcoming. Congrats, MS. Marriage is fun. I did the same as you and lived with my fianceeee for awhile prior to marriage. Good move. I wish you all the best. Marriage is a wonderful thing.

no link, but me and the wife got busy this morning, so that was fun
and tonight she pulled a tick from near our dog’s starfish. we had found some here and there, due to an early spring, but not engorged–this one was nearly unrecognizable it was so full

Thanks KC. It’ll be three weeks in for us this Saturday. She’s a school teacher, so we couldn’t go on the honeymoon right away. Just booked the airfare for June earlier this week though.
April 11th, 2012 at 11:15 PM
Boy, the part about the tick does sound fun, Vez. So you’ve got that to look forward to, MS. Congratulations! But no, seriously, congratulations

She’s a school teacher
for working girls, teacher is right up there with waitress for likelihood of hotness. i dabbled in teaching and looking back, had i not gotten out, i’d have been dead of STD or arrested for bigamy or divorced for massive infidelity
April 11th, 2012 at 11:23 PM
christ, you could drive a truck through his two front teeth.

Thanks?
i suppose, but i was using the reference to teachers to type on the profession generally, from my tastes and experience.
/why, where you guys staying in June?

We’re going to London and Dublin. 4 nights in London, then train ride across England and ferry across the Irish Sea to Dublin for 3 nights. We were going to do Hawaii but decided to do Europe instead.
April 12th, 2012 at 12:09 AM
That sounds fun, MS. I want to check out the UK
April 12th, 2012 at 12:12 AM
I’m living with my girlfriend now, which more than likely will be my bride. I think this is the route to go now these days. Live together for awhile, i figure it will make the transition much easier.
April 12th, 2012 at 12:13 AM
great trip ms. lots of history and natural beauty. it’s awe-inspiring to see structures so old compared to ours. villages deisgned way before automobiles. plus, they speak english
i’ve spent a lot of time in england but mostly as a lad, and a relative, so not much sight seeing. scotland and wales including their islands, would be very cool. wife is extremely irish, and has been to ireland, and would go again in a heartbeat

i’ve always felt that people are nuts if they don’t do it this way. hugely important to know hwo you co-habitate before stepping into thin air
April 12th, 2012 at 12:19 AM
Yea vez, we were basically living together when I had my own place and she had her place with a roommate (which was awkward). I basically lived there and was paying to live at my place that I was never at. So in November, we said fuckin it and moved into a condo with each other (which we’re renting) Great decision so far.

Booo. Lazy and yet a backhanded compliment. UK kids (except Daniel Orton) do well in school.

But only while they’re there. Ka. Boom.

This was a major selling point. Well that and I’ve never been.
I’m very excited for the trip. I’ve never been to Britain or Ireland. My wife has been to London once but she only stayed for a day on her way to Rome. So this should be a pretty good experience for both of us.

Mazel tov to you both. It’s the way to go. My dad told me when I was moving in with my then girlfriend that he and my mother got divorced because they lived together too long before they got married. I responded “No dad, you and mom got divorced because you fucking hated each other.” He didn’t have a response.

If I can remember my narratives correctly, I do believe that most UK freshman are majoring in choking on their way to leaving for the NBA after their one year of getting paid to play
April 12th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Cal’s players at UK have, for the most part, been excellent students. All who have left early have completed their last semester except one, Daniel Orton. Cal makes them commit to this to avoid the UConn situation.
