Ballin’: The Bobcats Are Stuck on Seven Wins. Anthony Davis Isn’t Walking Through That Door (Yet)
Memphis 94, LA Clippers 85: OJ Mayo got the steal, delivered a nice shoulder block to CP3, then soared in for the dunk. Grizzlies, currently 5th in the West, have an outside shot at the 3rd seed. Zach Randolph, who rode in an ambulance early Monday following a car accident, scored 10 points and took 12 rebounds in 29 minutes.
Oklahoma City 109, Milwaukee 89: The Knicks will take this result. The Thunder win, combined with the San Antonio loss, has OKC atop the Western Conference standings. The Bucks are 1.5 games back of the 8th seed in the East.
Detroit 89, Orlando 119: Who needs Dwight Howard? Fifteen three-pointers and double-figures from all five starters is a way to prevent the Knicks (or 76ers, hehe) from overtaking the Magic for the 6th spot in the East.
Denver 123, Golden State 84: Rookie Kenneth Faried scored 27 points and collected 17 rebounds, and really, who needs Nene? The Nuggets unloaded Nene and got JaVale McGee (four blocks), whom they can let walk in the offseason. Faried might be the steal of the 2011 draft. Keep on tanking, Golden State.
San Antonio 84, Utah 91: Even without Parker, Duncan and Ginobili, the Spurs nearly won on the road. If Stephen Jackson (2-of-13) makes a shot or boxes out Millsap, maybe San Antonio forces overtime. Devin Harris scored 25. Jazz remain 1.5 games back of Nuggets for final playoff spot.
Washington 113, Charlotte 85: The Bobcats are stuck on seven wins and have lost 12 in a row. It’s going to take much more than Anthony Davis to make this team relevant next season.
LA Lakers 93, New Orleans 91: Nice win without Kobe. Andrew Bynum did not attempt a 3-pointer.

Keep it up, I want Jeremy Lamb.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:13 AM
have the Bobcats ever been relevant?
April 10th, 2012 at 11:15 AM
I’d be scared to death of facing Memphis in the playoffs in right now.

Raw review
April 10th, 2012 at 11:19 AM
i want thomas robinson on the wizards next season.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:20 AM
I didn’t see the game, but the local radio dudes couldn’t stop talking about Metta World Peace’s inbound at the end of the Laker game last night.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:20 AM
I read on a Hornets blog that historically the 2nd worst and 3rd worst teams end up landing the #1 overall pick more than the worst team. Something like 22% of the time for each vs 16% for the worst team.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:22 AM
And if we’re choosing what we want, I’d be happy with the Hornets landing MKG and Kendall Marshall with their 2 lotto picks.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:23 AM
They have more pressing needs. Specifically drafting the best PF available.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
Cavs big game vs. Bobcats. A win could be devastating.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:24 AM
They have a very easy finish to the season while the Lakers have to play San Antonio 3 times, Denver, Dallas, OKC.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Are the lottery odds shifted by just how bad you are or does it not matter if you’re the worst team by 1 or 6 games?
April 10th, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Right. You’ve got Stuckey, Knight, and Gordon all at the guard position. While I’m a fan of drafting talent over need, I’m not sure you want to go with Lamb here. Robinson next to Monroe might work if you’re picking mid-lottery.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
They made the playoffs once, if that makes you relevant.
/free the Charlotte Hornets

Even if the Bobcats do lose the most games we all know MJ is gonna draft Tim Tebow or some shit
April 10th, 2012 at 11:34 AM
1 being the worst record, 2 being the 2nd worst record, etc.

Dr. Saturday casts a shadow over Pope Urban.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:36 AM
bobcats should have been contracted.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:39 AM
The Clippers were probably happy to lose last night. They’d WAAYYYY rather draw the Lakers in the 1st round for a plethora of reasons.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:39 AM
can we not call that dr. saturday? matt hinton’s no longer there and he took all the quality with him.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:41 AM
nada…also, that’s kinda old and all about matt hayes’ garbage article yesterday. here’s something funny about it.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
What are people thinking about Andre Drummond? Physically, he looks like a monster. But his results so far have been pretty ordinary.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:45 AM
Neither is MJ, apparently.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:45 AM
They need to upgrade everwyhere except SF, they need to take the best player available.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:46 AM
He’s either a star or a bust. Can’t think of a a player to ever have that tag before. Seems like it’s one or the other and no in between.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:46 AM
bobcats should have been contracted.
Or moved to Seattle
April 10th, 2012 at 11:47 AM
When did he leave? Didn’t realize he had? And to where?
April 10th, 2012 at 11:48 AM
Do they trade Tayshaun or keep him? How do you feel about Daye?
April 10th, 2012 at 11:48 AM
not sure yet…left about a month or so ago.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:49 AM
Dear God no. I don’t want Robinson and I don’t want Sullinger; I don’t think either are going to be starters in the NBA. I’d rather take Lamb at # 6 or 7 and get Drew Gordon or somebody in the 2nd.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:50 AM
Tay needs to be told “so long and thanks for all the memories.”
Daye is just an abomination, who has no place on an NBA roster.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:56 AM
Certainly didn’t look impressive in the games I watched. Of course, I might have a more informed opinion if Boatright and Napier actually passed the ball to him occasionally.
April 10th, 2012 at 11:57 AM
I was reading NBAdraft.net and they have the Bulls drafting Fab Melo and then they compare him to Dan Gadzuric AND Hasheem Thabeet…they might as well say the Bulls are gonna draft me
April 10th, 2012 at 11:58 AM
whoa. was not aware of this.
/fondly remembers SMQB
April 10th, 2012 at 12:00 PM
what do you do with Eric Gordon?
April 10th, 2012 at 12:01 PM
Reminds me of Derrick Favors coming out. That’s all I’ve got.
I’m not as high on Robinson as others, but if you’re picking mid-lottery, I think you could do a lot worse. I think if Robinson plays to his strengths and not try to do too much, he could be a Kris Humphries-type rebounder but with better defense.
April 10th, 2012 at 12:05 PM
Lakers will fuck the Clippers up in a big way. They’ve made it personal, and that was a stupid move.
As for the Wiz what would make them better than adding any one player, is who they should subtract. Starting with Grunfeld and then buzzsawing through most of the rest of the roster.
April 10th, 2012 at 12:06 PM
Well I agree with that but everything I’ve seen has Robinson going has him in the 2-4 range, long before Detroit is supposed to pick at 7-9 unless we trade up. Sullinger and Jones III are my biggest fears, I’d rather Terrence Jones or Henson if we go the PF route.
April 10th, 2012 at 12:09 PM
Trade him to Indiana.
April 10th, 2012 at 12:11 PM
Agreed and agreed.
April 10th, 2012 at 12:13 PM
If they took Marshall and MKG, who are a 1 and a 3, don’t you just play him at the 2?
