A wedding ball turned into a brawl late Saturday night when police said a 36-year-old woman got into a tussle with the bride, several guests and a police officer after she refused to stop slow dancing with the groom.

Columnist quits to be director of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
Hey, at least there’s a future in running halls of fame!
Mississippi State is losing its best remaining player, freshman Rodney Hood. The former high school hoops star transferring.
Guess he’s not going to be in the Mississippi Hall of Fame then. Oh well, there’s always journalism school!
A California student who left school, her family and her friends to live with her teacher boyfriend has ended the relationship after the teacher was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting another girl 14 years ago.
WHAT?! A man who enjoys sexual engagements with one barely legal girl may not be the most aware of where the line of consent is? I’m shocked.

I think most party halls around here that serve booze after 9pm are required to get a cop to show up, so that’s not uncommon. North Olmstead is a worthless effeminate suburb that has the CLE Airport patterns having a ton of 747′s trafficing directly above it.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:36 AM
That once-dominant franchise sure does seem petty.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:37 AM
I think most party halls around here that serve booze after 9pm are required to get a cop to show up, so that’s not uncommon.
Having had to schedule a few parties in the last year, I can tell you that, unless it’s a place that has an alcohol license (like a bar or a restaurant) if you’re having a party and alcohol is involved, you will be required by law to hire an off-duty police officer to provide security.

Yeah I was satisfied w/ the Masters. In a weird way, I was happy he won as although Oosty played really well, there’d of been this stigma of it being a fluke that he won by less than two due to the albatross.
Bubba’s been known to be a bit of a phony when the cameras are on but he looked pretty authentic on the 10th green after the win. Week started with the Big Three on 10th green for a photo and ended there with the playoff. Great symmetry.

The new normal. He hasn’t been charismatic in since 2008. He’s mainly self-loathing and has no joy in his game.

Great! Looking forward to them hopefully hosting another regional or super regional.

I’m sure Christopher Walken will try and stop him before that becomes possible. But he needs to solve a few crimes first.

April 9th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
The New York Yankees are 0-3.
Tampa looked great during this series. Their offense has some weapons. And to me, they didn’t miss BJ Upton. I really like Desmond Jennings’ game.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
One of the weaker episodes IMO. I understand it was setting up a lot of things, but nothing much happened.
Chopped All-Stars was good, just glad [SPOILER] that Cora didn’t win. “I started a chairty blah blah blah…”
April 9th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
No skank, lots of shank.
This is brilliant! Can I use it?
April 9th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
Can’t believe I’m going to say this, but Carlos Pena in that lineup does so much for them. Longoria has looked great with Pena hitting behind or ahead of him. Tampa’s pitching is also sooo good.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
Peter Hansons shank on 12 was amazing. I don’t know how he managed to even finish that round under 80.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:59 AM

I was confident the Pirates were going to go scoreless for the series midway through Saturday nights game.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:59 AM
It felt a lot like the third episode in the first season. Mainly set up, however we did get loads of gratutious nudity and incest.

From Game of Thrones to Chopped All-Stars. Naturally. Such a strange era we’re in.

Carlos Pena in that lineup does so much for them. Longoria has looked great with Pena hitting behind or ahead of him.
So far, so good. And that Longoria – he’s a cocky SOB, but he backs it up. To me, he’s one of the best players in baseball.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:02 AM
No skank, lots of shank.
This is brilliant! Can I use it?
Go nuts.
One of the weaker episodes IMO. I understand it was setting up a lot of things, but nothing much happened.
I disagree. It felt like one of last year’s midseason episodes for me. Yes, there is a lot of world-building still going on: introducing the finger-banging Greyjoys, building the relationships, etc. But a lot of this episode will pay off in the coming weeks — and that final scene was (pardon the pun) a bit chilling.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
One of the weaker episodes IMO. I understand it was setting up a lot of things, but nothing much happened.
Can’t you guys give it a day for those of us who haven’t watched it yet? Isn’t the unwritten rule in these parts not to discuss a Sunday night show until Tuesday morning?
/gets summarily ignored.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
Regarding GoT – did Stannis actually sleep with Melisandre in the books? I didn’t recall that part, though I get the later plot point they’re likely referencing.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
GoT has some significant book departures last night.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:04 AM
I’ll wait for the Masters ratings.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:04 AM
First day back at work after being out for a week.
I pretty much hate everything right now.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
This leads to
Yeah, I don’t remember that happening in the book, but I definitely understand why they did it.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
Irrationally, yesterday’s Red Sox game hurt me as much as those in last September. I guess it’s the spring/optimism feeling that has already crashed down.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
Do you think the Steelers’ Mike Wallace knows who 60 Minutes’ Mike Wallace is?
April 9th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
I think there was a slight implication, but that scene certainly didn’t happen. Makes sense to write the girl and the fool out of the TV series and use this plotline instead. The only change that didn’t make sense to me was turning Asha Greyjoy into Yara Greyjoy. What’s the point of that?
April 9th, 2012 at 9:07 AM
And all without seeing one commercial.
/God bless DVR
The unwritten rule is to write [SPOILER ALERT] if you discuss plot events. Discussing is fair game though, always has been.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
Regarding GoT – did Stannis actually sleep with Melisandre in the books? I didn’t recall that part, though I get the later plot point they’re likely referencing.
This leads to
GoT has some significant book departures last night
Yeah, I don’t remember that happening in the book, but I definitely understand why they did it.
It was hinted at but never expressly mentioned in the chapter where Davos smuggles Melisandre into a dark cavern.
As for departures, there were plenty, but they were more the “condense the book to keep things moving kind” and not the “have two lesbians make out just for the sake of it” kind.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
I found that, combined with putting one off the rocks and back into the fairway on 13 to be all too familiar.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
I remember reading the producers saying they didn’t want to confuse Asha & Arya, so they changed Asha’s name. No idea why.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:09 AM
After Bubba’s now famous shot — the crowd went crazy and some guys slapped him on the back. Bubba turns to them and says something, I would love to know what that was.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:09 AM
So people weren’t interested in him really and instead the other golfers, but you needed to link to a USA Today story about him? Stubbornly uncorrupted and unbeholden, indeed!
April 9th, 2012 at 9:09 AM
The AV Club reviewer has seen the first four episodes and hinted that there’s actually a more serious departure from the books yet to come. Based on the previews, it’s SPOILER Robb getting together with Jayne Whatsherface this season.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:10 AM
Also — I hate dream sequences, I hate that Don Draper had an extended dream sequence. I really wanted him to be a murderer.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:10 AM
I get that, which is why I said this episode was weak but necessary to me. [SPOILER] I enjoy watching the guy who plays Lord Baelish(sp?). He does a very good job of putting on that good guy facade but in truth he is just as ruthless as any of them. That scene where he both comforted and threatened the whore was amazing.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:12 AM
I remember reading the producers saying they didn’t want to confuse Asha & Arya, so they changed Asha’s name. No idea why.
There’s Arya and there’s Osha (the wildling woman who cares for Bran AKA Tonks). Producers felt adding “Asha” might confuse people. I don’t see why it would — Yara vs Arya seems confusing to me. But what do I know.
Based on the previews, it’s SPOILER Robb getting together with Jayne Whatsherface this season.
We’ll see how it plays out but yes, that’s coming sooner than expected. A lot of Robb’s plot happens off-book — people talk about what battles he fought or what he did, but since he’s never a POV character, he doesn’t get to tell his side.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:12 AM
…into an anagram of Arya.
Whatever, it’s their show. Makes no difference either way what her name is. Shit, I still don’t think they’ve used Melisandre’s name yet, and Davos just got his full one out there last night.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:12 AM
They said they changed the name to prevent most people from confusing Osha, Asha and Arya.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
tiger AND rory finished side-by-side, so i’m not sure about all the tiger jabs.
the bigger story is phil’s choke job in yet another major.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
Is it safe to start The Client List discussion yet?
April 9th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
If that happens, I can’t say I’d be a fan. Seems like a needless departure from the books. I’ll wait and see how they explain it though.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
They said they changed the name to prevent most people from confusing Osha, Asha and Arya.
now it’s Osha, Arya and Yara. All better.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
I’ll bet Phil dreamt all night of going back to the tee on 4 and re-hitting his tee shot.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
I think Benioff and Weiss also indicated that the season ends a bit differently than the second book. Blackwater is the ninth episode so who knows what they’ll incorporate from Storm of Swords.
The changes I noticed last night:
- Bronn as captain of the city watch
- Asha’s name changed
- Jon’s scene at the end with Craster
- Baelish’s speech to the whore
- Melisantits
April 9th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
The Detroit Tigers are 3-0.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:17 AM

April 9th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
I wonder is Louie wishes he busted out the 5-iron once Watson went in the woods on 10.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
Great Roundup this morning. Lots of tabs open.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:18 AM
Shit, I still don’t think they’ve used Melisandre’s name yet, and Davos just got his full one out there last night.
I use captions, so I know that’s her. Also, I’ve seen her boobs now. I think they were very much allusive (i don’t know if that’s a word) to the sexual aspect of the relationship between Melisandre and Stannis, even if they weren’t direct about it in the books. Just like about Renly being a homo. On the show, though, get them titties out.
Also, I can’t wait for the “son” that she gives Stannis.
Also, I loved, loved, loved the guy they cast as Salladhor Sahn. That actor is so great.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
I’m glad Bubba could pull off the hook of a lifetime, but he was damned lucky that he even had a window to hit that shot. With that godawful drive he should’ve been forced to take his medicine and punch out.
He’s still a tightass that needs a beating.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:19 AM

April 9th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Also — my buddy and avid TBL reader, was in Vegas last month and bet $50 on Webb Simpson and $50 on Bubba Watson to win the Masters. They both were 50-1 odds. Way to go Jeff!
April 9th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
I’m not sure why he would. He mashed the driver all day and put the ball where he pleased off the tee, save for a couple times when he found good wood.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Huh? That happened in the book.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
Have I missed Patchface being in this season yet? I don’t recall seeing him. Leaving him out would be a huge mistake.
Granted, the way in which the first season addressed the start of the first book was perfect and this season has really strayed from it. Cutting out the Dragstone prelude made no sense whatsoever.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
He said he didn’t in a Bob Costas interview with Antonio Brown before the playoffs. I don’t really know who he is either though.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
i root for tiger because i love golf and he has done so much on tour. but i have not missed him at all, and didnt really give a thought to his round saturday and sunday. i have gotten on board with so many other players that if tiger does well, its just a bonus.

I’ve been hoping and praying that the final scene this season is the prologue out of Storm of Swords with the horn blasts.

I caught all this. Bubba hits The Shot. Some guy comes in and lightly slaps him on the back. Then some jackhole comes over and gave him two thunderslaps on the back right on the shoulder. Bubba definitiely gave him a WTF glare. At this point, he’s out to the fairway and the marshalls rope off the crowd and CBS is now at a wide angle. You can see one marshall (hunter green golf shirt) go after the back-slapper. Hilarious.

April 9th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Think about it. It obviously never show Mel and Stan the man getting it on in the books, but it definitely happens.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
I think they have. But if they haven’t, there’s a point to that considering most people are terrified to even say her name and that’s the stated reason that Stannis wants to use her because she wields fear.
Mister Nit Pick.

Hard to believe an austistic kid could dream up all that boozing and carousing.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:31 AM

Which means Edric is getting deleted too right?
Not necessarily. The whole point behind Edric is what he represents (Joffrey’s bastardry/lack of claim to the throne). He could be hinted at without revealing him.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
Great pull. I recognized the actor, but didn’t put that together. I think he was also in U.S. Marshals.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
That is one of the toughest par 3′s the Tour will see all year. Phil could go back to the tee, hitting 3, and still take a 6.
So the risk of trying to punch it out was worth the risk. I think that’s why Phil tried the punch out. He’s done that righ-handed chip out successfully many times.
The error was getting too cute on the tee.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
I had a feeling he looked familiar. I also watched Eurotrip on Saturday night. That movie is so awesome. Mieke can get it.

4 day weekend for me. I feel your pain. Going to be at least 10 AM before I’m fully back in gear.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
He’s going to Berlin!
April 9th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
so he would have hit a wedge right handed, not get the ball out of the hazard, hit again, shot an approach and made triple all over again?
Not saying he would have made triple bogey again, but he definitely would have tried the right handed shot again. I’ve watched Phil his entire career and making the smart play is not his style. He takes big risks. Sometimes he gets burnt (yesterday) and sometimes it pays off (Hole 13 two years ago).
April 9th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
That whole interaction between Balon, Theon, and
AshaYara was well done. And my wife, who never read the books, was freaking out when Balon said “Who said anything abou attacking the Lannisters.”April 9th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
snakeskin shoes
I saw those. Damn impressive. Looked pretty comfortable, actually.

Samesies
April 9th, 2012 at 9:37 AM
All about the inside material. I’m wearing woven loafers right now that look like they’re made out of wicker but the inside is silk, most comfortable shoes ever.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:37 AM
I don’t want to think what the costs to sponsor that much time during an NFL game would be.
And think think about all the whining about the announcers. Everyone does that enough already.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:38 AM
Congrats to whomever took that Tiger/Hunter vs. Field $100 bet.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:39 AM
No, he hallucinated while he was having a severe fever.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:39 AM
So could Tractenberg. Was interesting seeing Harriet the Spy all grown up.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:40 AM
I’m not sure how anyone else feels, but I feel as though ANGC puts their grandstands and galleries far too close to the action. Granted, Phil put a wipe 25 yards left of the green, but it was just bad bad luck with that bounce.
I guess the PGA never figures a pro would wipe or, heaven forbid, shank a tee shot that badly.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:41 AM
Cooper as Tim Gutterson in Justified was pretty jarring when I realized it.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
Agreed it was enjoyable seeing how horrible our nation’s test scores are.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
No, he hallucinated while he was having a severe fever.
You say tomato I say tomato — it still didn’t actually happen.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
Damn Lucky no one died.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
Which is a very real thing that could happen. It was believable and definitely has a deeper meaning. It’s Don’s demons still very prevalent in his mind, regardless if he’s outwardly a happily married man.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:44 AM
I can’t stop watching the Kate Upton Easter video. I swear I saw a nipple, er, areola.
/apologies to sportsgal
April 9th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
Ha!
April 9th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
Still need to watch Mad Men tonight. Was indoctrinated into Game of Thrones last night. Past the incest, which is really quite disturbing, I think I’ll like the show. Saw the opener of season 2 and last night’s episode. Going to have to watch season one at some point in the next couple weeks. The tits are enough to keep my interest for the time being.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:46 AM
Buddy, there is some incest in season 1 that will blow your mind!
April 9th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
The whole series is built upon incest, or at least a great deal of the plot.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
On #4, Phil tried a big draw. He really can move it and he tried to move it left-to-right so he’d have this uphill put but knocked it dead straight into the stands. Its 230 ish from an elevated tee. He obviously caught some misfortune with the ricochet.
The key on that shot was distance control, not cutting the shot.
He left at least 3 uphill eagle/birdie putts short yesterday. But he played really well for the most part, can’t say the same for most of the other marquis guys like Tiger/Rory/Luke/Hunter/Kaymer.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
“Call your doctor for erections lasting more than four hours.”
April 9th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Yes, really enjoyed that scene. Love the line about paying for things with “iron” instead of “gold”.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Also, Clay Buchholz fucking sucks. I’ll wait until Yardwork to fully air those grievances though. Fuck that guy.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:50 AM
Great scene and great adaptation from the book. I just read the chapter in Feast for Crows about his brother Aeron. That dude is a dick.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Dont think it did, and it definitely didn’t happen there. Some other guy was put in Slynt’s place after he was removed.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
oh I saw it.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
The Greyjoys are in interesting group. Their motto is “We do not sow.” Kinda creepy.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
You are correct. Bronn was never the head of the gold cloaks. It was Jacelyn Bywater.
/holy shit I might know too much about these books
April 9th, 2012 at 9:52 AM
This has literally been going on for as long as I can remember, it’s not new. They’ve been doing the four minutes of commercials an hour on CBS since the nineties at least.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
I’m guessing you have him on your fantasy team. Yeesh.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
Not saying he would have made triple bogey again, but he definitely would have tried the right handed shot again.
that lie just seemed impossible.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
Greyjoy Dick Scale (patent pending):
1. Euron
2. Balon
3. Victarion
4. Aeron
5. Theon (rhymes with neon)
6. Asha/Yara
April 9th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
Bronn is made the head of Tyrion’s guards though. They just merged the two things for the show. Ironhand dies in this book anyway.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
I can’t stop watching the Kate Upton Easter video. I swear I saw a nipple, er, areola.
oh I saw it.
oh yes, there’s some nip slip in there.
Yes, really enjoyed that scene. Love the line about paying for things with “iron” instead of “gold”.
The Greyjoys are in interesting group. Their motto is “We do not sow.” Kinda creepy.
What happens when you make pirates into lords? You still have pirates but now they think this is their tradition.
Cooper as Tim Gutterson in Justified was pretty jarring when I realized it.
It’s to his credit that I didn’t see it until someone told me. He’s so different from Cooper it’s amazing.
Can’t wait to see how it all shakes out in Justified. O/U in deaths? I’m going with 3.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
Victarion and Euron are both kinda badasses. Crazy fucking viking/pirate badasses.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:56 AM
Sorry, Bronn was knighted, not placed as head of the gold cloaks.
Whatever, I still don’t think it was at all apparent that Stannis and Melisandre were fucking in the books. I don’t think they fucked at all. And what does Patchface have to do with any of this?
April 9th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Read the scene with Davos and Mel again. She comes as close to saying “we boned” as she can without directly saying it.
Also, patchface is full of foreshadowing and prophecy. He’s a terrifying little nostradamus.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Nothing. He doesn’t have shit to do with shit, either in the books or the series. It’s why he’s such a stupid character.
April 9th, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Kate Upton will have a sex video leaked within the next two years.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:00 AM
Just seems they didn’t want to have to pay to cast Stannis’ wife. Make it so that she’s out of the picture instead of the one who switches to Melisandre first maybe.
Well he would be one of the most interesting characters to put on the screen considering his face looks like a checkerboard. But he’s the king of foreshadowing.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
Who was it that called fore on Sunday and bonked a
fanpatron (Hansen?), and when the camera cut there, it looked like they were face down on the grass. They then cut away and acted like it never happened. I was hopping around a bit though and might have missed an update.April 9th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
Martin was just using the Hapsburg model.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:02 AM
It’s not like he predicts the Red Wedding or anything.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:05 AM
SPOILER
Dany will take care of that in the House of the Dead though…
April 9th, 2012 at 10:07 AM
So what? Dany did, too. No one treats Patchface as anything more than a fool. He’s useless to the plot. In a series that already has way too many characters, he was an easy axe.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:08 AM
It’s not like he predicts the Red Wedding or anything.
yeah, but about as shittily as Fiver predicts a condo development in Watership Down.
A retard talking is just a retard talking. Nobody’s listening retard. Sing some more from the Little Mermaid soundtrack, and take care of the scaly girl.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:08 AM
House of the Undying. And, I wonder if they’ll even have that scene. In words, that scene works. With actual visuals, might just give too much away.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:10 AM
SPOILER
SPOILER ALERT, these books go on forever with endless bullshit. Any cutting of extraneous characters is appreciated. Especially those that GRRM just uses to make his books that much longer.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:11 AM
HELL YES.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:12 AM
SPOILER
That part of Clash of Kings is probably among my favorites along with Blackwater and Arya receiving the coin from Jaquen(sp?) after the storyline at Harrenhal.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:13 AM
It would completely ruin the Red Wedding.
However it would be worth it to see the dwarf gangbang.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:14 AM
Hell to the yeah. Add in that Ga Tech boy Kucher blew a lead and Duffner (Auburn boy) blew a 36 hole lead and I’d say this was a great Masters.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:14 AM
Hanson shanked his tee shot at 12 (incredibly lucky it was 12 and not any other par 3 on the course) trying to get too cute. Angel Cabrera got away with a big shank when he beat Perry in ’09.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:15 AM
Duffner (Cleveland boy)
fix’d
April 9th, 2012 at 10:16 AM
However it would be worth it to see the dwarf gangbang.
somebody tell Butters there’s some extra work available.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:23 AM
golf?
April 9th, 2012 at 10:27 AM
LoLi is starting to look like one of the Gabor sisters. That’s not a compliment.
April 9th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
That’s what happens when you’ve banned body bags from the course like August has.
